A case of cardiac tamponade during the treatment of simultaneous cardio-cerebral infarction associated with atrial fibrillation - Case report.
Conclusion: Some cases with CCI treated with IV-tPA and endovascular intervention were reported, but the treatment strategy should be still discussed multidisciplinary. Especially, the administration of antithrombotic drugs for CCI should be carefully performed because fatal hemorrhage such as cardiac tamponade can occur. PMID: 31893142 [PubMed]

Safety of the transventricular approach to deep brain stimulation: A retrospective review.
Conclusion: Although the total incidence of intraventricular or intracerebral hemorrhage cannot be reliably assessed from this data set, the low incidence of neurologic complications challenges the notion that DBS electrode trajectories that transgress the ventricle significantly increase the risk of complications. Intracranial complications of acute bacterial endocarditis.
Conclusion: Here, we reviewed the literature for intracranial pathology accompanying ABE versus SBE. ABE typically results in acute ischemia, septic emboli, stroke/hemorrhagic infarcts, or ICH. SBE more classically produces septic microemboli and mycotic aneurysms that may leak, but rarely producing ICH. We also presented a patient with ABE attributed to S. aureus whose septic emboli/stroke was accompanied by a mycotic aneurysm; the ruptured resulting in a large right occipital ICH. Conclusions: Management of concomitant metabolic encephalopathy and meningioma with vasogenic edema and impending herniation can be challenging. Correction of the encephalopathy is crucial to minimize perioperative morbidity and mortality. Awareness of metabolic causes of acute decompensation is critical for perioperative management, so a high index of clinical suspicion can make an important timely diagnosis for treatment initiation. Middle cerebral artery dissection causing subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral infarction: Trapping with high-flow bypass preserving the lenticulostriate artery.
CONCLUSIONS: Treatment strategy for IAD of the MCA should be planned for each patient and condition, and surgery should be performed promptly to prevent critical rebleeding given the high recurrence rate. In addition, preventing re-rupture of the IAD, and preserving important perforators around the lesion and blood flow distal to the dissection should be targeted by the treatment strategy. Long-term effect of surgical revascularization on silent microbleeds in adult moyamoya disease: A case report.
CONCLUSIONS: Surgical revascularization may be useful to reduce the moyamoya vessels and prevent cerebrovascular events in a certain subgroup of patients with asymptomatic moyamoya disease, although its universal benefits on asymptomatic moyamoya disease have not been established yet. Carotid cavernous fistula after percutaneous balloon compression for trigeminal neuralgia: Endovascular treatment with coils.

A case of acute subdural hematoma due to bleeding from metastatic chondrosarcoma of the skull.
CONCLUSION: In the event of subdural invasion of a metastatic lesion, intratumoral hemorrhage may induce acute SDH, as in the present case. Similar to our case, most previous reports of intracranial chondrosarcoma hemorrhage have had an unclear etiology. Despite the rarity of this event, a patient with a history of malignancy presenting with nontraumatic acute SDH should be examined for the intratumoral hemorrhage of skull metastasis in the differential diagnosis. Management of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: State of the art and future perspectives.
CONCLUSIONS: Even though no single pharmacological agent or treatment protocol has been identified, the main therapeutic interventions remain ineffective and limited to the manipulation of systemic blood pressure, alteration of blood volume or viscosity, and control of arterial dioxide tension. Clinical outcome prediction in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage - Alterations in brain-body interface.
CONCLUSIONS: Using the aforementioned results generated from binary logistic regression models, we can identify potential patients who are in the high risk group of neurological deterioration. Specific therapies can be tailored to prevent these detriments, including treatment of hypertension, seizures, early detection and treatment of myocardial infarction, and prevention of hepatic encephalopathy. Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage prognostic decision-making algorithm using classification and regression tree analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: A clinically useful classification tree was generated, which serves as a prediction tool to guide bedside prognostication and clinical treatment decision making. Middle cerebral artery fusiform aneurysm presented with stroke and delayed subarachnoid hemorrhage trapping, thrombectomy, and bypass.
CONCLUSION: Our case describes a complex aneurysm treatment that consisted of aneurysm trapping, thrombus removal and an STA-M3 MCA branch bypass creation for the protection of the patent M3 insular MCA branch and prevention of further ischemia.
