A case of refractory chronic subdural hematoma and internal carotid artery stenosis sequentially treated with surgical drainage, middle meningeal artery embolization, and carotid artery stenting
CONCLUSION: Under the circumstances where CSDH is present but antiplatelet therapy is inevitable, MMA embolization could be a reasonable treatment option to avoid additional surgical procedures. Furthermore, early intervention should be considered even for asymptomatic carotid stenosis in terms of shortening the administration period of antiplatelet agents.PMID:36128168 | PMC:PMC9479518 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_505_2022

Effect of drug use in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: A scoping review
CONCLUSION: Evidence for thrombolytic and thrombectomy treatment in drug users remains limited. Controlled studies are needed to examine complication profile and outcomes following thrombolytic and thrombectomy treatment in this population.PMID:36128166 | PMC:PMC9479649 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_561_2022

The reverse question mark and L.G. Kempe incisions for decompressive craniectomy: A case series and narrative review of the literature
CONCLUSION: The utility of the LGK incision is comparable with the classic RQM incision to treat acute brain injuries, where an urgent decompression must be performed. Some of these cases include malignant ischemic strokes, ICH, and empyema. No differences were observed between both techniques in terms of prevention of scalp necrosis and general cosmetic outcomes.PMID:35855131 | PMC:PMC9282772 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_59_2022
