Preliminary development of a prediction model for daily stroke occurrences based on meteorological and calendar information using deep learning framework (Prediction One; Sony Network Communications Inc., Japan).
Conclusion: Our preliminary results suggested a probability of the DL-based prediction models for stroke occurrence only by meteorological and calendar factors. In the future, by synchronizing a variety of medical information among the electronic medical records and personal smartphones as well as integrating the physical activities or meteorological conditions in real time, the prediction of stroke occurrence could be performed with high accuracy, to save medical resources, to have patients care for themselves, and to perform efficient medicine. Prevalence of intracranial aneurysms among acute ischemic stroke patients.
Conclusion: A higher prevalence of intracranial aneurysms was observed among acute ischemic stroke patients than among the general population. However, the variability of the general population should be considered. The functional outcomes of acute ischemic stroke patients are not affected by the presence of an intracranial aneurysm. Review of Toyoda K, et al. Dual antiplatelet therapy using cilostazol for secondary prevention in patients with high-risk ischemic stroke in Japan. Lancet Neurol. 2019 Jun;18(6):539-548.
Conclusion: This RCT demonstrated the safety of dual therapy, consisting of cilostazol/aspirin or cilostazol/ clopidogrel, in preventing secondary ischemic stroke in a high-risk Japanese population. Types of intraparenchymal hematoma as a predictor after revascularization in patients with anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSION: Parenchymal hematoma was a predictor of poor outcomes. A spontaneous cervical epidural hematoma mimicking a stroke - A case report.
Conclusion: tPA treatment is frequently used as first-line therapy for acute ischemic stroke. Therefore, physicians should be aware of the potential for the SCEH in patients presenting with hemiparesis, as tPA administration may increase cervical hematoma leading to clinical deterioration. With this case, we intended to warn about SCEH as a rare but possible entity, since its early recognition and prompt clinical intervention may improve neurological outcomes. PMID: 32637210 [PubMed]
