Angiography-based hemodynamic features predict recurrent ischemic events after angioplasty and stenting of intracranial vertebrobasilar atherosclerotic stenosis
ConclusionsIn patients with intracranial vertebrobasilar atherosclerosis treated with PTAS, preprocedural prolonged TTP of the target vessel and shortened trans-stenotic TTP difference were associated with stroke relapse. Q-DSA-defined hemodynamic parameters provided incremental predictive value over conventional parameters for stroke recurrence.Clinical relevance statementQuantitative DSA analysis enables intuitive observation and semi-quantitative evaluation of peri-therapeutic cerebral blood flow. More importantly, quantitative DSA –defined hemodynamic parameters have the potential for risk stratification of patients ...

The role of fetal-type posterior cerebral artery in mediating occipital and thalamic perfusion: An arterial spin labeling MRI study
This study investigates the relationship between the presence of fPCA and arterial spin labeling (ASL) hyperperfusion patterns in the medial occipital cortex and thalami.

Clot-based time attenuation curve as a novel imaging predictor of mechanical thrombectomy functional outcome in acute ischemia stroke
ConclusionsThrombus TAC on CTP were found to be a promising new imaging biomarker to predict the outcomes of MT in AIS.Clinical relevance statementThis study revealed that clot-based time attenuation curve based on admission perfusion CT could reflect the permeability and composition of thrombus and, also, provide valuable information to predict the clinical outcomes of mechanical thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemia stroke.Key Points• Two time-attenuation curves distributions achieved strong correlations (|r|= 0.627, p <  0.001) with histopathological results.• The unimodal time-attenuation curve was ...

CT Perfusion Does Not Modify the Effect of Reperfusion in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke Undergoing Endovascular Treatment in the ESCAPE-NA1 Trial INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: CTP did not modify the effect of near-complete reperfusion on clinical outcomes. Thus, CTP cannot explain why some patients with near-complete reperfusion have poor clinical outcomes.

Safety and efficacy of the fourth-generation Acandis Acclino flex plus stent for the treatment of complex intracranial aneurysms
CONCLUSIONS: Given the complexity of the aneurysms, the use of the Acclino flex plus was feasible and associated with a favourable safety and efficacy profile. Further studies are needed to evaluate Acclino flex plus in other aneurysm subsets and to define its role in endovascular aneurysm treatment.PMID:37671458 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231199131

Single center experience using 3  mm trevo stent retrievers in medium vessel occlusion thrombectomy
CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that endovascular mechanical thrombectomy using the 3 mm Trevo NXT is a safe and effective treatment option for medium vessel occlusion. The utility of novel stent retrievers in the treatment of medium vessel occlusion should be further explored in future multicenter studies.PMID:37671457 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231199880

Machine learning based prediction of length of stay in acute ischaemic stroke of the anterior circulation in patients treated with thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: Machine learning has potential use to estimate the length of stay of patients with acute ischaemic stroke that were treated with thrombectomy.PMID:37671446 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231197615
