Aircraft noise exposure and risk for recurrent cardiovascular events after acute coronary syndrome: A prospective patient cohort study
Environ Res. 2023 Sep 8:117108. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2023.117108. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn several population based cohort studies associations between aircraft noise and various diagnoses of cardiovascular disease were observed. However, no study has yet addressed the risk of recurrences in relation to transportation noise in patients with acute coronary heart disease. We conducted a prospective patient cohort study of 737 individuals recruited from eleven cardiac centers in the Rhine-Main region in the vicinity of Frankfurt Airport. All patients had an angiographically confirmed acute coronary syndrome diagnosed...

Effects of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting on Clinical Outcomes in Patients with Reduced Ejection Fraction Heart Failure and Coronary Heart Disease: A Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The mortality rates of PCI and CABG were similar in patients with CHD complicated with HFrEF. Compared with PCI, CABG had a lower incidence of MACE, MI, HF, and revascularization, and a higher incidence of stroke or TIA.PMID:36856505 | DOI:10.1532/hsf.5169

Revascularization methods in patients with carotid stenosis and concomitant coronary heart disease
Folia Med (Plovdiv). 2023 Feb 28;65(1):7-15. doi: 10.3897/folmed.65.e69913.ABSTRACTA major feature of the atherosclerotic process is its systemic and progressive character. The plaque pathogenetic mechanisms, morphology, evolution, and predilection site (bifurcation zones) determine the frequent coincidence of carotid and coronary atherosclerosis in the same patient. The present overview chronologically traces the history, effectiveness, and benefit of surgical and continuously improving interventional carotid revascularization. It thereby analyzes the indications, results, and complications based on a number of randomized ...
