Adverse Events and All-Cause Mortality in Danish Patients with Cerebral Venous Thrombosis: A Nationwide Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: Intracranial bleeding, ischemic stroke, and mortality risks were higher for patients with CVT than matched patients with VTE and the general population, particularly within 6 months after diagnosis.PMID:35688451 | DOI:10.1055/s-0042-1743473

Atrial fibrillation, liver cirrhosis, thrombosis, and bleeding: A  Danish population-based cohort study
CONCLUSION: In patients with AFF, liver cirrhosis was associated with an elevated risk of ischemic stroke, venous thromboembolism, and all evaluated bleeding complications.PMID:35229067 | PMC:PMC8867136 | DOI:10.1002/rth2.12668

Thrombocytopenia with acute ischemic stroke and bleeding in a patient newly vaccinated with an adenoviral vector-based COVID-19 vaccine
We describe the first Danish case of presumed inflammatory and thrombotic response to vaccination with an adenoviral (ChAdOx1) vector based COVID-19 vaccine (AZD1222). The case describes a 60-year old woman, who was admitted with intractable abdominal pain seven days after receiving the vaccine. Computer Tomography (CT) of the abdomen revealed bilateral adrenal hemorrhages. On the following day she developed a massive right sided ischemic stroke and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) angiography showed occlusion of the right internal carotid artery. The ischemic area was deemed too large to offer reperfusion therapy. During ...

Risk of thromboembolic and bleeding outcomes following hematological cancers: a Danish population-based cohort study.
CONCLUSIONS: Approximately 2 out of 10 hematological cancer patients experienced MI, ischemic stroke, VTE, or bleeding requiring hospital contact within 10 years. The hematological cancer cohort had higher hazards of MI, ischemic stroke, VTE, and bleeding requiring hospital contact than a general population comparison cohort. Predicted risk of stroke and bleeding and use of oral anticoagulants in atrial fibrillation: Danish nationwide temporal trends 2011 –2016
We used Danish nationwide registries to examine temporal trends in the predicted stroke and bleeding risks (mean CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED scores per year, respectively) as well as the combination of selected stroke and bleeding risk factors per year among atrial fibrillation (AF) patients initiated for the first time between 2011 and 2016 on vitamin K antagonists (VKAs), dabigatran, rivaroxaban, or apixaban.
