Assessment and tailored physical rehabilitation approaches in persons with cerebellar impairments targeting mobility and walking according to the International Classification of Functioning: a systematic review of case-reports and case-series
CONCLUSIONS: A comprehensive test battery to encompass the key features of a PwCI on different levels of the ICF is needed to manage heterogeneity. Measures on body function level should be included in interventions.PMID:37639546 | DOI:10.1080/09638288.2023.2248886

MRI for all: Cheap portable scanners aim to revolutionize medical imaging
.news-article__hero--featured .parallax__element{ object-position: 47% 50%; -o-object-position: 47% 50%; } The patient, a man in his 70s with a shock of silver hair, lies in the neuro intensive care unit (neuro ICU) at Yale New Haven Hospital. Looking at him, you’d never know that a few days earlier a tumor was removed from his pituitary gland. The operation didn’t leave a mark because, as is standard, surgeons reached the tumor through his nose. He chats cheerfully with a pair of research associates who have come to check his progress with a new and potentially revolutionary device they are testing. The cylind...

Cognitive impairment, anxiety and depression: a map of Cochrane evidence relevant to rehabilitation for people with post COVID-19 condition
CONCLUSIONS: These results are the first step of indirect evidence able to generate helpful hypotheses for clinical practice and future research. They served as the basis for the three recommendations on treatments for these PCC symptoms published in the current WHO Guidelines for clinical practice.PMID:36534008 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.22.07813-3

Effect of gait distance during robot training on walking independence after acute brain injury
This study aimed to determine whether the distance of gait training using a hybrid assistive limb (HAL) is related to the improvement of walking independence in patients with acute brain injury. This was an exploratory, observational study. Thirty patients having hemiplegia (functional ambulation category, FAC score ≤ 2) with acute stroke or after brain tumor surgery were included. Patients performed 4 sessions of gait training using HAL (60 min/session), 1-3 sessions/week, combined with conventional physical therapy. The gait distance achieved in the four training sessions using HAL was measured. FAC score was measured ...

A novel nomogram to predict overall survival in head and neck cancer survivors with radiation-induced brain necrosis
CONCLUSION: In this LASSO-Cox model-based nomogram study, we developed and validated an easily applied model to predict overall survival in head and neck cancer survivors following an RN diagnosis.PMID:35121029 | DOI:10.1016/j.radonc.2022.01.033
