CONCLUSION: Associations between chronic conditions were reported; furthermore, they were grouped into 3 latent dimensions of comorbidity and reported network factor loadings. Effect modification of age and hypertension on cancer and prevalence of self ‐reported stroke – A cross‐sectional study
The objective of this study was to examine the effect modification of age on the relationship between cancer and prevalence of self-reported stroke. We used cross-sectional data from the 2015 –2016 iteration of the Canadian Community Health Survey. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to assess the association between cancer and self-reported stroke. Quality of life and its associated factors among home-dwelling older people residing in the District of Colombo, Sri Lanka: a community-based cross-sectional study
Conclusion
The overall QOL of home-dwelling elders of the Colombo District is moderate, with the lowest score being in social relationships and the highest in the environmental domain. Educational status, engaging in religious activities and financial independence are key factors associated with a better QOL. Limitations in physical activity and chronic diseases are associated with a reduced QOL. Living with the spouse is a key factor associated with the psychological health domain.

In the early days of my medical residency, I met a man whom we’ll call Jason. He arrived to our emergency room on a holiday, nonchalant yet amiable, and complained of mild chest pain. Jason was tall and trim, with a strong South Boston accent and fingertips still faintly stained from his last home-improvement project. He was only 45 years old, but he looked much younger. He didn’t smoke, barely drank alcohol, and his cholesterol levels had always been normal. No one in his family had a history of heart disease. Unknown Causes of Death in Cancer Patients
CONCLUSION: Of the patients, 7.4% died of unknown causes during follow-up and the proportion of death was higher with longer follow-up and among more indolent cancers.
