Effectiveness and safety of the Trevo ® Retriever for mechanical thrombectomy in Chinese patients with acute ischemic stroke: Trevo Retriever China Registry
CONCLUSIONS: This real-world study of the Trevo Retriever in China demonstrated a high rate of revascularization and first-pass success that resulted in an overall high good function outcome rate and low mortality.PMID:36703568 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231151275

Prehospital technologies for early stroke detection - A review
Interv Neuroradiol. 2023 Jan 18:15910199231152372. doi: 10.1177/15910199231152372. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe rate of neural circuitry loss in a typical large vessel occlusion well emphasizes that 'Time is Brain'. Every untreated minute in a large vessel ischaemic stroke results in loss of 1.9 million neurons and 13.8 billion synapses. As such, it is essential to optimize the flow-limiting steps in delivering the current standard of care. The current diagnostic model involves recognition of symptoms by patients, followed by access to Emergency Medical Services and subsequent physical examination and neuroimaging in ...

Automated CT angiography collateral scoring in anterior large vessel occlusion stroke: A multireader study
CONCLUSION: Automated assistance for CTA-CS using e-CTA software provided helpful decision support for readers in terms of improving scoring accuracy and reading efficiency for physicians with a range of experience and training backgrounds and leading to significant improvements in inter-rater agreement.PMID:36650942 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221150470

Use of optical coherence tomography in selected patients with recurrent cryptogenic stroke: A case series and technical discussion
CONCLUSION: Intravascular OCT is a feasible and safe approach to identifying patients with covert carotid wall abnormalities, like carotid WEBs and ulcerated plaques, that are amenable to carotid stenting to reduce recurrent stroke risk.PMID:36628417 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221150472

Patient characteristics associated with delayed neurological improvement following acute ischemic stroke: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: DNI is a phenomenon that is not presently well understood. Lack of uniformity among definitions of DNI hinders efforts to explore DNI and the factors associated with its occurrence. Future studies should work to establish a consensus definition of DNI to determine its causes and significance more accurately.PMID:36597678 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221149787
