Oroxylin A activates ferritinophagy to induce hepatic stellate cell senescence against hepatic fibrosis by regulating cGAS-STING pathway
In conclusion, we identified the new role of ferritinophagy and the GAS-STING pathway in Oroxylin A -mediated anti-hepatic fibrosis.PMID:37086511 | DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2023.114653

Ginkgolide B alleviates oxidative stress and ferroptosis by inhibiting GPX4 ubiquitination to improve diabetic nephropathy
In conclusion, the results suggested that GB may improve DN via protecting the kidney from ferroptosis and oxidative stress damage by inhibiting the ubiquitination of GPX4. These findings suggested that GB, a natural medicine, may be an effective therapeutic option for DN.PMID:36411664 | DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2022.113953

Dexmedetomidine attenuates myocardial ischemia/reperfusion-induced ferroptosis via AMPK/GSK-3 β/Nrf2 axis
In conclusion, Dex protects hearts against MIRI-induced ferroptosis via activation of Nrf2 through AMPK/GSK-3β signaling pathway.PMID:35988428 | DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2022.113572

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor δ rescues xCT-deficient cells from ferroptosis by targeting peroxisomes
Biomed Pharmacother. 2021 Nov;143:112223. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2021.112223. Epub 2021 Sep 25.ABSTRACTFerroptosis is a recently recognized process of cell death characterized by accumulation of iron-dependent lipid peroxides. Herein, we demonstrate that peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor δ (PPARδ) inhibits ferroptosis of mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) derived from cysteine/glutamate transporter (xCT)-knockout mice. Activation of PPARδ by the specific ligand GW501516 led to a dose-dependent decrease in ferroptotic cell death triggered by xCT deficiency, along with decreased levels of intracellular iron accumu...
