'Do I want children later in life?' Reproductive intentions of 1700 adolescents
CONCLUSIONS: While most adolescents would like to have children in the future, one in four adolescents is undecided and one in ten indicates a wish to remain childless; reasons for wanting children are rather personal, reasons for not wanting children are rather pragmatic.PMID:38683752 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2024.2335651 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Oestrogens in oral contraception: considerations for tailoring prescription to women's needs
CONCLUSION: Today various COCs contain different oestrogens. Prescribers must be familiar with the different properties of each oestrogen for a tailored contraceptive recommendation, considering their safety and contraceptive efficacy, as well as women's needs and preferences.PMID:38683756 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2024.2334350 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Legal abortion requests and outcomes for women when the law is restrictive - experience from a referral centre in south-eastern Brazil
CONCLUSION: Feelings related to decision-making about abortion affected all groups, with differences. It is important to give women space to be heard, so they can make their own decisions.PMID:38683765 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2024.2333423 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Prevalence of high-risk HPV and cervical dysplasia in IUD users and controls: a cross sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: Reported use of levonorgestrel intrauterine system and hormonal contraception, but not use of copper IUD, was associated with a higher prevalence of HPV infections and histological HSIL + compared to no reported use of contraception.PMID:38666336 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2024.2340521 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Performance of a handheld point of care ultrasonography to assess IUD position compared to conventional transvaginal ultrasonography
CONCLUSION: Abdominal POCUS using Butterfly-iQ, when administered by an imaging specialist, exhibited excellent performance in confirming IUDs entirely within the uterine cavity.PMID:38651645 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2024.2315231 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Correlation of sexual desire with sexual hormone binding globulin and free androgen index in women using combined contraceptives
CONCLUSIONS: A minority of women using HCs with EE might experience a decreased sexual desire. This was not observed in women on HCs containing E2V, 17 E2, or E4. To avoid HC discontinuation, due to sexual desire reduction, HCs having minor antiandrogenic effects could be taken into consideration.PMID:38588444 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2024.2332302 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)
