Do elevated thyrotropin levels increase the risk of miscarriages: yes or no?
CONCLUSIONS: Higher TSH levels correspond with obesity during early pregnancy and may be a sign of maternal thyroid dysfunction. Physiological thyroid function in the first trimester of pregnancy is important for perinatal outcome.PMID:37965691 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2023.2276031 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

A new progestin-only pill (POP): the impact of drospirenone-only pill 4  mg 24 + 4 on coagulation markers and bleeding patterns
CONCLUSIONS: DRSP 24 + 4 use was associated with a non-deteriorating effect on coagulation markers and a significant progressive reduction of days of scheduled and unscheduled bleeding.PMID:37962511 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2023.2276668 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Oral hormonal therapy as treatment option for abnormal uterine bleeding
CONCLUSIONS: In daily clinical practice, oral hormonal therapies are convenient and reversible tools to manage AUB when LNG-IUS 52 mg is contraindicated or turn down by the patient. Many oral hormonal therapies are prescribed to treat AUB, but only a few have been approved with this specific indication, therefore further large well-designed studies are necessary in order to compare the efficacy of different pills for treating AUB.PMID:37955241 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2023.2270098 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of health care providers regarding the recommendation and use of long-acting reversible contraceptive devices for adolescent patients
CONCLUSION: Healthcare providers had positive attitudes and adequate theoretical knowledge concerning to the effectiveness of LARCs. The main areas for improvement were practical knowledge about the insertion and proper use of the devices, indications for referral to gynaecologists for the insertion procedure, and concerns about side effects.PMID:37910020 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2023.2272005 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Site necrosis at the insertion place of the single-rod subdermal contraceptive implant: report of five cases
CONCLUSION: Early diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment are essential to avoid severe aesthetic or functional damages and major life-threatening complications.PMID:37910034 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2023.2269455 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)

Menstrual cycle abnormalities in women: characteristics, perceptions, and health-seeking behaviours
CONCLUSION: The participants in this study exhibited insufficient health-seeking behaviour for abnormal menstruation characteristics. Women should be directed by health professionals to reliable online sources to seek help, and they should be encouraged to display professional health-seeking behaviour.SHORT CONDENSATION: The knowledge and perception of menstruation characteristics among women is inadequate. The results of this study suggested that many gynecological symptoms that can affect women in their later stages of life may be unintentionally ignored.PMID:37910035 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2023.2273753 (Source: The Euro...
