The potential impact of increased recombinant zoster vaccine coverage on the burden of herpes zoster among adults aged 50-59 years
CONCLUSION: Modestly higher RZV coverage in US adults 50-59 years could reduce the clinical burden associated with HZ and may result in societal cost savings. These findings demonstrate the potential value of increasing RZV vaccination in this population.PMID:37541822 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.07.025

Addressing racial inequality and its effects on vaccination rate: A trial comparing a pharmacist and peer educational program (MOTIVATE) in diverse older adults
CONCLUSIONS: Both interventions significantly improved knowledge and trust toward vaccination and retained their effect 1 month after the program. The 2 effective community-based education models should be expanded to ensure timely and trusted information is available to educate older adults about vaccine-preventable diseases. Further research is encouraged to assess the long-term cost-effectiveness of these models' utilization on a larger scale. DISCLOSURES: Dr Schafer is an employee of Merck; however, at the time of the project, he was a professor at Thomas Jefferson University. The other authors have no conflicts of int...

Measles and Varicella Vaccination Program in a Hospital: Implementation and Impact on Contact Tracing
This study aims to describe the implementation process of a measles and varicella vaccination program and report on the reduction in the number of susceptible healthcare workers exposed to measles, varicella, and disseminated herpes zoster at a tertiary hospital. The Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) model was used to describe the vaccination program implemented from October 2015 to September 2018. The number of exposed, reviewed, and susceptible healthcare workers during contact tracing for exposure to (a) measles and (b) varicella and disseminated herpes zoster in 2016, 2017, and 2018 is reported....

Effect of the varicella vaccination on the clinical characteristics of herpes zoster cases aged 20 years and under
In conclusion, the number and spread of shingles in most children and adolescents are less, and the complications such as PHN are less. Varicella vaccination can reduce the decrustation time and relieve shingles cases with some clinical symptoms.PMID:37482741 | DOI:10.3760/cma.j.cn112150-20220905-00868
