Lipid nanoparticle-based COVID-19 vaccines: Ensuring pharmaceutical stability, safety, and efficacy
Am J Health Syst Pharm. 2023 Sep 14:zxad221. doi: 10.1093/ajhp/zxad221. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn an effort to expedite the publication of articles, AJHP is posting manuscripts online as soon as possible after acceptance. Accepted manuscripts have been peer-reviewed and copyedited, but are posted online before technical formatting and author proofing. These manuscripts are not the final version of record and will be replaced with the final article (formatted per AJHP style and proofed by the authors) at a later time.PMID:37707445 | DOI:10.1093/ajhp/zxad221

Comparing the responses of countries and National Health Systems to the COVID-19 pandemic: a critical analysis with a case-report series
Eur Rev Med Pharmacol Sci. 2023 Aug;27(16):7868-7880. doi: 10.26355/eurrev_202308_33442.ABSTRACTThis review aimed to compare the different responses of countries to the pandemic, their National Health Systems, and their impact on citizens' health. This work aimed to create a narrative plot that connects different discussion points and suggests organizational solutions and strategic choices in the face of the pandemic. In particular, this work focused on public health organizations, specifically the European Union and vaccination politics. It is also based on a case report series (about the United States, Germany, Vietnam, ...

The wake of the triple epidemic (Tripledemic): does it emphasizes the COVID-19 vaccine as a routine immunization for children? - A cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: The findings may give insight to the policymakers for a strategic plan to include C19V in the routine schedule to combat the pandemic and tripledemic by improving herd immunity.PMID:37667961 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202308_33439

Telogen effluvium and COVID-19: a cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: In our study, the incidence of TE was highly related to COVID-19 infections among both sexes. However, the incidence was greater among the female population. The awareness level toward post-COVID-19 TE was poor among most of the participants in our study.PMID:37667959 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202308_33437

Impact of COVID-19 vaccination on parental and childhood stress levels in Greece
CONCLUSIONS: Parental vaccination against COVID-19 is a significant stress and anxiety predictor for both parents and their offspring. Parental and childhood stress levels were correlated, while the effect of vaccination was independent of the pandemic phase. The campaigns to promote vaccine uptake against COVID-19 should also highlight its potential benefit on the psychological well-being of the family.PMID:37667951 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202308_33427

Assessment of hesitancy to COVID-19 vaccine in patients with rheumatic arthritis
CONCLUSIONS: The COVID-19 vaccination rate among RA patients in China is low due to limited knowledge, misconceptions, and insufficient promotion. Boosting confidence and understanding of the vaccine's effectiveness and safety is crucial to improve vaccination success.PMID:37667922 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202308_33397

RNAi therapies: Expanding applications for extrahepatic diseases and overcoming delivery challenges
Adv Drug Deliv Rev. 2023 Aug 30:115073. doi: 10.1016/j.addr.2023.115073. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe era of RNA medicine has become a reality with the success of messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines against COVID-19 and the approval of several RNA interference (RNAi) agents in recent years. Particularly, therapeutics based on RNAi offer the promise of targeting intractable and previously undruggable disease genes. Recent advances have focused in developing delivery systems to enhance the poor cellular uptake and insufficient pharmacokinetic properties of RNAi therapeutics and thereby improve its efficacy and safety. However...

Particulate antigens administrated by intranasal and intravaginal routes in a prime-boost strategy improve HIV-specific T < sub > FH < /sub > generation, high-quality antibodies and long-lasting mucosal immunity
Eur J Pharm Biopharm. 2023 Aug 25:S0939-6411(23)00227-8. doi: 10.1016/j.ejpb.2023.08.014. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMucosal surfaces serve as the primary entry points for pathogens such as SARS- CoV-2 coronavirus or HIV in the human body. Mucosal vaccination plays a crucial role to successfully induce long-lasting systemic and local immune responses to confer sterilizing immunity. However, antigen formulations and delivery methods must be properly selected since they are decisive for the quality and the magnitude of the elicited immune responses in mucosa. We investigated the significance of using particulate antigen f...
