Dietary and Sleep Quality Association in Hemodialysis Patients
CONCLUSION: The results of this study suggest that sleep quality has no significant relationship with nutrient intake in hemodialysis patients. Demographic factors, such as age and educational status, have played a more effective role than nutritional factors in patients' sleep quality.PMID:37694260 | PMC:PMC10492622 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_244_22

Sodium First Approach, to Reset Our Mind for Improving Management of Sodium, Water, Volume and Pressure in Hemodialysis Patients, and to Reduce Cardiovascular Burden and Improve Outcomes
Front Nephrol. 2022 Jul 7;2:935388. doi: 10.3389/fneph.2022.935388. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTNew physiologic findings related to sodium homeostasis and pathophysiologic associations require a new vision for sodium, fluid and blood pressure management in dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease patients. The traditional dry weight probing approach that has prevailed for many years must be reviewed in light of these findings and enriched by availability of new tools for monitoring and handling sodium and water imbalances. A comprehensive and integrated approach is needed to improve further cardiac health in hemodialysis (HD...

Economic Analysis of a Ketoanalogue-supplemented Very Low-protein Diet in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease in Vietnam
Clin Ther. 2023 Jun 24:S0149-2918(23)00191-1. doi: 10.1016/j.clinthera.2023.05.008. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPURPOSE: The aim of this study was to estimate the cost-effectiveness of a very low-protein diet (VLPD) supplemented with ketoanalogues of essential amino acids compared with a conventional low-protein diet (LPD) in Vietnam.METHODS: The study was conducted from payer (base case), patient, and societal perspectives. A Markov model simulated costs and quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) for patients with chronic kidney disease stage 4 or 5 (CKD4+) who were followed up during their lifetimes. Patients received a V...

Relationship Between Malnutrition Inflammation Score and Dietary Fat Quality Indices with Cardiovascular Diseases in Hemodialysis Patients
CONCLUSION: In this study, there was no significant relationship between the malnutrition-inflammation index and the dietary fat quality index with cardiac disease in hemodialysis patients. Further studies are needed to have a tangible conclusion. DOI: 10.52547/ijkd.7280.PMID:37337800
