Predictors of poor outcome after endovascular treatment for acute vertebrobasilar occlusion: data from ANGEL-ACT registry
ConclusionsPoor outcome after EVT at 90 days occurred in 50.7% of acute VBAO patients from the ANGEL-ACT registry. Our study found several predictors of the 90-day poor outcome which should be highly considered in daily practice to improve acute VBAO management.Clinical Trial Registration  http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Comparison of predictors of failure of early neurological improvement after successful endovascular treatment for posterior and anterior circulation large vessel occlusion: Data from ANGEL-ACT registry
CONCLUSION: In selected patients, successful EVT can lead to similar outcomes in PCLVO and ACLVO. Some predictors of fENI in both anterior circulation and posterior circulation were identified in our study, which should be highly considered in the clinical practice in LVO patients undergoing EVT.PMID:36266940 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221133164

Direct carotid artery puncture for acute ischemic stroke: Local experience and systematic review
CONCLUSION: We describe the detailed procedure of the rare case of an emergency DCAP performed at our institution. DCAP provides an alternative treatment method in cases where thrombus removal access cannot be established through traditional methods.PMID:36113459 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221125094

Abstract No. 565 Trends in utilization of endotracheal anesthesia for mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke in the United States
The literature on uniform baseline parameters and procedural details of general anesthesia in mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is scarce. Given the increasing volume of thrombectomies for acute ischemic stroke (AIS), understanding the effects of endotracheal anesthesia with intubation (ETI) on outcomes is time-critical and imperative. Here, we used a national database to compare the trends in utilization and outcomes of ETI vs non-ETI anesthesia in MT for AIS.

Evaluating corrected carotid flow time as a non-invasive parameter for trending cardiac output and stroke volume in cardiac surgery patients
ConclusionThe use of different ccFT equations leads to variable correlation and concordance rates between ccFT and CO/SV measurements. Bazett ’s equation acceptably tracked CO changes in time, while the trending capability of SV was poor.

Characterizing Fast and Slow Progressors in Anterior Circulation Large Vessel Occlusion Strokes
CONCLUSIONS: The impact of symptom-reperfusion time on outcomes significantly varies across slow-versus fast-progressors. ASPECTS, collateral score, rCBF<30%, and HIR define stroke progression profile.PMID:35379038 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221083100

Worldwide anaesthesia use during endovascular treatment for medium vessel occlusion stroke
CONCLUSIONS: Anaesthesia approaches in MeVO EVT vary across world regions and patient and physician factors. Most physicians in this survey preferred to start with local anaesthesia or conscious sedation and convert to GA if necessary.PMID:34665059 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211041487

The anesthetic approach for endovascular recanalization therapy depends on the lesion site in acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionsThe VLSM analysis showed associations between GA and ischemic lesions in the left hemispheric middle cerebral artery territory and posterior circulation areas including the thalamus that are known to cause neurologic deficits, such as aphasia or compromised vigilance, in AIS-patients with EVT. Our data suggest that higher disability, clinical impairment due to neurological deficits like aphasia, or reduced alertness of affected patients may influence the physician ’s decision on using GA in EVT.
