Predictors of Outcome in Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Patients Clinical Sciences
Background and Purpose—The mortality and morbidity after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage has improved because of better diagnosis, early treatment to secure the aneurysm, and better management of disease-specific complications. With these improvements in care, it is not clear if the previously identified independent predictors of a negative outcome have changed. The aim of this study was to identify the independent predictors of an unfavorable outcome (Glasgow Outcome Score 1, 2, and 3) in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients. Methods—Univariate and multivariate analysis of prospectively collected data on pati...

Optional Endovascular Therapy of Dissecting Posterior Cerebral Artery Aneurysm
We present here three cases collected from Maison Blanche Hospital (Intervention Neuroradiology Department, CHU Reims, France) during 2011-2012; they were females, at a young age and the affected side was on the right. The first case was affected at the P2-P3 segment, the aneurysm was fusiform in shape and she presented with ischemic stroke, while the second and third cases were affected at the P2 segment, the aneurysms being saccular in shape; one of them presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage with a history of migraine and the other patient presented with ischemic stroke. All of them had no history of trauma, hypertensio...

Safety of Eptifibatide in Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Patients Requiring Antiplatelet Agents. (P2.285)
Conclusions:Our results indicate that administering IV Eptifibatide to prevent thrombotic complications after endovascular coil embolization in selected patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage is safe. Multicenter prospective trials are warranted to corroborate our findings.Disclosure: Dr. Mehta has nothing to disclose. Dr. Song has nothing to disclose. Dr. DeCarvalho has nothing to disclose. Endovascular treatment of pediatric intracranial aneurysms: A systematic review and meta-analysis (P2.295)
Conclusions:In general, pediatric patients who undergo endovascular treatment for intracranial aneurysms have a favorable prognosis and excellent survival. There are no differences between coiling, stent-assisted coiling, and flow diversion with respect to periprocedural complications and long-term outcomes.Disclosure: Dr. Bond has nothing to disclose. Hospital utilization, length stay and inhospital mortality in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage among different racial groups (P2.300)
Conclusions:There are significant differences in hospital utilization, in hospital mortality, LOS and disposition among different racial groups. Diffusion Tensor Imaging of Corticospinal Tract Recovery after Intra-arterial Mesenchymal Stem Cell Infusion in a Canine Stroke Model (P1.266)
Conclusions:Serial DTI-DTT imaging after IA MSCs therapy in large animal stroke model appears to have a trend towards higher change in FA. These findings could support further development of DTI-DTT biomarkers to measure neurologic recovery in experimental models as well as early clinical trials of novel stroke therapies.Disclosure: Dr. Guada has nothing to disclose. Stable incidence but declining case-fatality rates of subarachnoid hemorrhage in a population
Conclusions: Although the incidence of SAH remained stable in this population-based region, 5-day, 30-day, and 90-day case-fatality rates declined significantly. Advances in surgical and medical management, along with systems-based changes such as the emergence of neurocritical care units, are potential explanations for the reduced case-fatality.
