Study on the incidence and risk factor of silent cerebrovascular disease in young adults with first-ever stroke
Silent cerebrovascular diseases, including silent brain infarcts (SBI), white matter hyperintensity (WMH), and cerebral microbleed, are closely correlated with stroke progression. Association between physical activity and stroke in a middle-aged and elderly Chinese population
Conclusions:
Compared with low PA, vigorous PA, but not moderate PA, was associated with a lower risk of stroke in middle aged and elderly people in southern China, specifically among men. These findings suggested that increasing PA is beneficial.

Post-stroke cognitive impairment occurs frequently in patients with stroke, with a 20% to 80% prevalence. Anxiety is common after stroke, and is associated with a poorer quality of life. Impact of carotid atherosclerosis in CHA2DS2-VASc-based risk score on predicting ischemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation.
Conclusions: Increased CIMT and presence of carotid plaque are associated with a high risk of ischemic stroke, and CIMT is related to myocardial remodeling and diastolic dysfunction, suggesting that carotid atherosclerosis can improve risk prediction of stroke in patients with AF, when included under vascular disease in the CHA2DS2-VASc scoring system.
