Trends in and Prognostic Significance of Time to Treatment in Pancreatic Cancer: A Population-Based Study
CONCLUSIONS: Delayed treatment approaching 2 months was observed in 10% of the population. The rising temporal trend in TTT may be attributed to the increasing shift toward neoadjuvant CT/RT in early-stage PDAC and/or the increasing use of tissue biopsy prior to surgery.PMID:37624518 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-14221-9

Impact of Adherence to Operative Standards and Stage-Specific Guideline-Recommended Therapy in Nonmetastatic Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: Despite survival benefits associated with adherence to operative standards and receipt of guideline-recommended therapy, compliance remains poor. Future efforts must be directed toward improved education and implementation efforts around both operative standards and therapy guidelines.PMID:37330447 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-13758-z

Understanding Factors Leading to Surgical Attrition for "Resectable" Gastric Cancer
CONCLUSION: Review of clinical trials shows attrition due to unavoidable tumor and treatment factors (~ 15%). The NCDB indicates non-medical patient and provider characteristics (i.e., age, insurance status, facility volume) associated with attrition. This combined analysis highlights specific opportunities for improving potentially curative surgery rates.PMID:37046129 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-13469-5

The Association of Race With Adequate Lymph Node Evaluation for Gastric Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: In the current study, non-White race, independent of socioeconomics, was significantly associated with adequate LN assessment. Future work is necessary to improve standardization and achieve higher rates of adequate LN assessment for all patients during resection for GC.PMID:35570820 | DOI:10.1177/00031348221101601
