Nanovesicular-Mediated Intranasal Drug Therapy for Neurodegenerative Disease
In conclusion, the review covers in-depth conclusions on numerous aspects of formulation of drug-loaded vesicular system delivery across BBB, current marketed nasal devices, significant jeopardies, potential therapeutic aids, and current advancements followed by future perspectives.PMID:37658972 | DOI:10.1208/s12249-023-02625-5

A qualitative study assessing the barriers and facilitators to physical activity in adults with hearing loss
CONCLUSIONS: Middle-aged and older adults with hearing loss experience hearing-specific barriers to physical activity, which has a deleterious impact on their overall health and well-being. Interventions and public health programmes need to be tailored to account for these additional barriers. Further research is necessary to test potential behaviour change techniques.PMID:37658583 | DOI:10.1111/bjhp.12689

Inhibition of myeloid-derived suppressor cell (MDSC) activity by redox-modulating agents restores T and B cell proliferative responses in murine AIDS
This study preliminarily explored the role of two redox-modulating compounds in inhibiting the M-MDSC suppressive activity in LP-BM5 infection. The tested molecules were: I-152 consisting in a conjugate of N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) and S-acetyl-cysteamine (SMEA) and C4-GSH that is the n-butanoyl glutathione (GSH) derivative. The results show that both molecules, tested in a concentration range between 3 and 20 mM, blocked the M-MDSC suppression of activated B and T cells ex vivo and restored their proliferative capacity in vivo. Ex vivo I-152 blockade of M-MDSC suppressiveness was more significant for T cell (about 70%) whil...

Effects of Auditory Training in Older Adults
CONCLUSION: Overall, the study has extended the auditory benefit from the LACE training to the typical aging population in terms of improved communication ability, but the effect of training on auditory abilities did not transfer to gains in cognitive abilities.PMID:37656601 | DOI:10.1044/2023_JSLHR-22-00621
