Relationship of Atherosclerotic Plaque Structure with the History of COVID-19 in Patients Undergoing Coronary Computed Tomographic Angiography
This study aimed to examine the relationship between atherosclerotic coronary plaque structure and COVID-19. This retrospective cohort comprised 1269 consecutive patients who had coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA) for suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) between July 2020 and April 2021. The type of atherosclerotic plaque was the primary outcome. A closer look at the utilized radiation doses during computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) for COVID-19 patients
CONCLUSIONS: The increase in CT scans during the COVID-19 pandemic required close dose monitoring and optimization. The protocol used during CTPA should guarantee a minimum radiation dose with maximum patient benefits.PMID:37250685 | PMC:PMC10210819 | DOI:10.1016/j.radphyschem.2023.111025

An unusual complication was observed in India during the second wave of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Two incidences of gastric mucormycosis were found. A 53-year-old male patient with a history of COVID-19 one month earlier came into the intensive care unit. After admission, the patient developed hematemesis, which was initially treated with blood transfusions and digital subtraction angiography embolization....
