Community acquired pneumonia: an increased risk for subsequent cardiovascular events?
Conclusion: There is a high percentage of CVE within 6 months after a CAP episode that requires inpatient treatment, mostly in patients with prior CVE and with moderate to severe CURB-65 at admission, suggesting the importance of close follow-up in such patients.

Relation between respiratory diseases and the development of cardiovascular events in patients with respiratory viral infection
Conclusions: COPD does not seem to be an additional risk factor for the development of CVE in patients with respiratory viral infections. However, patients with CVRF and previous CVE more frequently developed new CVE. Patients with CVRF without COPD developed more CVE.

Cardiac MRI for Prognosis in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: LV and RV volumes and RV function can be used to predict the risk of mortality in PAH. A decrease in LV volumes carries a higher risk for mortality than a decline in RV function. RV function and volumes are the strongest CMR predictors of clinical progression.

Bacteriological and therapeutic features of lung abscess
Conclusion: The identification of the responsible bacteria in lung abcess remains difficult. Management is based mainly on antibiotics wich is often probabilistic, in some cases associated with physiotherapy, percutaneous scan-guided drainage or rarely surgery.

Impact of diabetes in patients with COPD
Conclusion: According to our study, in the COPD population, diabetes seems to be associated with more comorbidities and a worse respiratory function while it does not increase exacerbations rate.

The role of positive airway pressure treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Pulmonary Embolism
Conclusion: It was expected that PAPT improve outcomes in PE since reduction in intermittent hypoxia and in sleep fragmentation may reduce the hypercoagulable state. In this study, PAPT to control OSA was a risk and protective factor to high and low risk PE, respectively. These patients had more comorbidities that could impact the results. Further studies with larger and controlled samples are needed.

A novel multicomponent grading system for obstructive sleep apnoea severity applied in the ESADA cohort
Conclusion: Our data show that the four suggested OSA phenotypes of the "Baveno" classification reflect clinical phenotypes in a large, representative European patient cohort. The impact of T90, known to be correlated with poor cognitive, cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes, may indicate the prognostic relevance of the grading system.* Randerath et al. Cardiovascular comorbidity by clinical phenotypes of obstructive sleep apnea and sleeping hours
Conclusion: The ESE group had more severe OSA. Those with ESE and ≤5h/d had more CVC. Those with ≤5h/d had more dyslipidemia, especially when ESE and insomnia were absent.

Sleep Disordered Breathing association with cardiovascular disease in the French general population
Conclusion: These results confirm that SDB is associated with a higher occurrence of CVD particularly in sleepy and apneic subjects. SDB screening should be relevant to identify people who would benefit from preventive measures.

Respiratory Sleep Disorders Among 37 Patients With Laryngeal Dysfunction
Conclusion: Sleep disordered breathing (Sleep Apnea Syndrome and hypoventilation) are common in our group of non-obese patients with laryngeal dysfunction. Thyroidectomy was the main etiology, before neurological (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, post-stroke) and traumatic causes. These results suggest the importance of systematic screening for sleep disordered breathing in this category of patients.

Aspiration risks factors, microbiology and empiric antibiotics for patients hospitalized with community-acquired pneumonia
Conclusions: Hospitalized patients with ACAP or CAP/AspRF+ had similar anaerobic flora compared to patients without AspRFs. Gram-negative bacteria were more prevalent in patients with severe ACAP. A large proportion of CAP patients received anti-anaerobic antibiotic coverage.

In-vitro modeling of micro-emboli and their effect on microvascular circulation and endothelium mechanics
The objective of our study was to model embolization in microvasculature on a chip and study the biomechanical response. Methods: we used two cellular types, the established Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC) and lung-specific Human Pulmonary Artery Endothelial Cells (HPAEC) to create self-organized microvasculature in microfluidics chips. We diluted carboxylated micro-beads (~5 mm) perfusing them with a controlled pressure head, visualizing flow in real-time with nano-tracers of distinct fluorescence. We perfused them sequentially, before and after embolization, during a 3D confocal image acquisition, while acq...
