The interplay of physical and cognitive function in rehabilitation of interstitial lung disease patients: a narrative review
CONCLUSIONS: Numerous underlying etiologies of ILD contribute to frailty, skeletal muscle and cognitive function, but their respective neurobiologic mechanisms require further investigation. Exercise training increases physical measures, but complementary approaches may improve their applicability to improve daily activities.PMID:37691666 | PMC:PMC10482628 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-23-209

Baseline Body Surface Area and Itch Severity Define Response to Baricitinib in Patients with Moderate-to-Severe Atopic Dermatitis at Week 16
CONCLUSION: Using a machine learning approach, patients with moderate-to-severe AD and a BSA affecting 10-40% and Itch NRS ≥ 7 were characterized as likely to benefit most from BARI 4-mg TCS combination therapy. This was confirmed by subgroup analyses, which showed that these patients are most likely to show favorable response rates in improving AD signs and symptoms, specifically itch, after 16 weeks of treatment.PMID:37332021 | DOI:10.1007/s12325-023-02528-8

Investigational medications in 9,638 hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19: lessons from the "fail-and-learn" strategy during the first two waves of the pandemic in 2020
CONCLUSION: This retrospective multicenter observational cohort study on 9,638 hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19 during revealed that the necessity for invasive ventilation had the highest odds of mortality, beyond the variable effects observed by administration of the prevalent EUA-approved investigational drugs during the first two surges of the early 2020 pandemic in the United States.PMID:37041643 | DOI:10.1186/s13037-023-00358-9
