Pertussis in Mexico from 2000 to 2019: A real-world study of incidence, vaccination coverage, and vaccine effectiveness
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggested high levels of vaccine effectiveness overall were achieved for the aP and wP vaccines in Mexico between 2000 and 2019.PMID:37661533 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.046

Pertussis immunisation strategies to optimise infant pertussis control: A narrative systematic review
CONCLUSION: Comparing schedules is challenging and there was insufficient evidence to that one schedule was superior to another. Countries must select a schedule that maintains high vaccine coverage and reduced the risk of delaying the delivery vaccines to protect infants.PMID:37658001 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.073

Effectiveness of maternal immunisation with a three-component acellular pertussis vaccine at preventing pertussis in infants in the United States: Post-hoc analysis of a case-control study using Bayesian dynamic borrowing
CONCLUSIONS: Effectiveness of third-trimester pregnancy immunisation with Td3ap at preventing infant pertussis in the US is very likely to be ≥ 50% and is most likely ∼ 80%. Bayesian dynamic borrowing of non-US VE data allowed overcoming the limited power (due to small sample size) of a brand-specific sub-analysis by considering additional evidence.PMID:37635001 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.07.057

Development and validation of capillary electrophoresis sodium dodecyl sulfate (CE-SDS) method for purity analysis of pertussis toxin, filamentous haemagglutinin and pertactin antigens
We report here the development and validation of CE-SDS method for purity analysis of Acellular Pertussis vaccine components viz. purified Pertussis toxin (PTx), purified Filamentous haemagglutinin (FHA), and Pertactinantigen (PRN). The method was found to be specific and showed excellent linearity at a concentration range of 15.62 µg/mL-1000 µg/mL for purified PTx, 31.25 µg/mL-1000 µg/mL for purified FHA, and 3.9 µg/mL-1000 µg/mL for PRN antigen. Method reported limit of quantification (LOQ) 31.25 µg/mL, 62.5 µg/mL, and 7.8 µg/mL for purified PTx, FHA, and PRN respectively. Method precision (repeatability and int...

The Impact of Routine Vaccinations on Alzheimer's Disease Risk in Persons 65 Years and Older: A Claims-Based Cohort Study using Propensity Score Matching
CONCLUSION: Several vaccinations, including Tdap/Td, HZ, and pneumococcal, are associated with a reduced risk for developing AD.PMID:37574727 | DOI:10.3233/JAD-221231

Timeliness of childhood vaccination in England: A population-based cohort study
We described vaccine uptake for representative antigens (pertussis, pneumococcus, measles) by age in days and stratified by ethnicity, region and birth cohort. Alluvial diagrams were used to illustrate common journeys through the vaccination schedule, and we applied survival analysis using accelerated failure time models (AFT) to predict age of vaccine receipt based on timing of previous doses.RESULTS: 573,015 children were followed up until their fifth birthday, when they had 90.16 % coverage for two doses of measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine and 88.78% coverage for four doses of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP) v...
