Enhanced Detection of Edema in Malignant Anterior Circulation Stroke (EDEMA) Score Brief Report
Conclusions—The EDEMA score identifies patients at high risk for potentially lethal malignant edema. Although it requires external validation, this scale could help expedite triage decisions in this patient population.

Safety and Effect of Metoclopramide to Prevent Pneumonia in Patients With Stroke Fed via Nasogastric Tubes Trial Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— This study suggests that metoclopramide may reduce the rate of pneumonia and may improve other clinical outcomes in patients with subacute stroke fed via nasogastric tube. Time From Imaging to Endovascular Reperfusion Predicts Outcome in Acute Stroke Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Compared with target mismatch patients, those with the malignant profile experience faster infarct growth and a steeper decline in the odds of functional independence, with longer delays between baseline imaging and reperfusion. However, this does not exclude the possibility of treatment benefit in patients with a malignant profile.

Remote poststroke headache in children: Characteristics and association with stroke recurrence
Conclusions Remote poststroke headache is a common morbidity among pediatric stroke survivors, particularly in older children. Headaches may increase health care utilization, including neuroimaging and hospital admissions. We identified a possible association between poststroke headache and stroke recurrence.

Prehospital thrombolysis in acute stroke: Results of the PHANTOM-S pilot study
Conclusions: The data suggest that prehospital stroke care in STEMO is feasible. No safety concerns have been raised so far. This new approach using prehospital tPA may be effective in reducing call-to-needle times, but this is currently being scrutinized in a prospective controlled study.

A Blood-based Biomarker Panel to Detect Acute Stroke
Background: The aim of this study was to develop an adjunctive, peripheral biomarker test to differentiate ischemic strokes, intracranial hemorrhages (ICHs), and stroke mimics in the acute setting.Methods: Serum samples were collected from 167 patients who presented with an acute neurologic deficit within 24 hours of symptom onset. Correlation between cerebral blood volume values and outcomes in endovascular therapy for acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions We found that cortical CBV loss is predictive of poor clinical outcomes, whereas basal ganglia CBV loss is predictive of hemorrhagic transformation but without translation into poor clinical outcomes. Our study findings support published results of baseline preintervention CBV as a predictor of outcomes in patients undergoing intra-arterial stroke therapies.

Timing of symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage after rt-PA treatment in ischemic stroke
Conclusions Our findings suggest that rt-PA patients have the highest risk of post rt-PA sICH within the first 24 hours after treatment. This supports monitoring of rt-PA-treated patients in specialized settings such as neuro-intensive care units or stroke units. Our findings suggest that the probability of sICH is low 36 hours post rt-PA. Future larger studies are warranted to identify the patterns of bleeding after rt-PA administration.

Collateral flow as causative of good outcomes in endovascular stroke therapy
Conclusions Improved collateral flow in patients with AIS undergoing endovascular therapy was associated with improved radiographic and clinical outcomes. Independent of age, vessel occlusion and time, in patients with comparable ischemic burdens, changes in collateral grade alone led to significant differences in initial stroke severity as well as ultimate clinical outcome.

Operator assessment versus core laboratory adjudication of recanalization following endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusion Operator angiographic reads are statistically significantly higher than core laboratory-read readings following stroke thrombectomy, especially for complete recanalization. These differences should be considered when interpreting reports of angiographic outcomes after thrombectomy.
