Clinical recovery from stroke lesions and related outcomes
This study investigated stroke lesions in terms of clinical recovery and related outcomes. Twenty-seven stroke patients were assessed via longitudinal observational study. Brain lesions were evaluated using MRI. The Fugl-Meyer Assessment and clinical evaluations were performed monthly between 1 and 6months after onset. The anterior limb (ICAL) and genu (ICG) of the internal capsule were associated with recovery of the upper limbs in chronic stroke patients. Intravascular lymphoma mimicking vasculitis
This report documents the presence of intravascular lymphoma diagnosed on a brain biopsy in a 60-year-old man. He initially presented 6months before brain biopsy with chest pain and hypotension, warranting coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Four months later, he presented with signs attributed to a stroke (diaphoresis, slumped over in a chair and left hand weakness). He subsequently developed a sudden onset wide-based gait, left leg numbness, word finding difficulties and worsening confusion. Noninvasive assessment of the intracranial pressure in non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhage
This study provides further evidence that in patients with intracranial hemorrhage and SAH, the presence of ONSD greater than a threshold of 5.5mm is significantly predictive of invasively measured elevated ICP. The prediction of raised ICP can be further refined by measuring ONSD at the point where the optic nerve and the ophthalmic artery cross, and by determining the ratio between the ONSD and ETD.

Methamphetamine-related brainstem haemorrhage
We report the case of an otherwise healthy 29-year-old woman who presented with a brainstem haemorrhage following intravenous methamphetamine use. Extensive investigation did not reveal an underlying pathology, and the development of symptoms was temporally related to methamphetamine injection. Pituitary aspergillus infection
We report a case of Aspergillus infection involving the pituitary gland and sellar region discovered in a 74-year-old man. The patient had a history of hypertension, chronic renal disease, autoimmune hemolytic anemia and presented with right eye pain, headaches and worsening hemiparesis. Imaging studies revealed a right internal carotid artery occlusion and an acute right pontine stroke along with smaller infarcts in the right middle cerebral artery distribution.
