A deep learning-based approach for rectus abdominis segmentation and distance measurement in ultrasonography
Conclusion: Deep learning model Res-UNet has good reliability in RA segmentation and distance measurement in ultrasound images, with great potential in the clinical diagnosis of DRA.PMID:37736487 | PMC:PMC10509763 | DOI:10.3389/fphys.2023.1246994

Ultrasound-guided ablation techniques for thyroid lesions
Laryngorhinootologie. 2023 Sep 21. doi: 10.1055/a-2144-4132. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTUltrasound-guided ablation techniques have been increasingly introduced into routine treatment of thyroid lesions as a complement to existing surgical therapies and radioiodine treatment. In cystic or predominantly cystic lesions instillation therapy (ethanol/polidocanol ablation) has yielded good results. Novel thermal ablation techniques, including radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA), laser ablation (LA) and high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), induce irreversible cellular effects by locally applying temper...

The value of radiomics model based on ultrasound image features in the differentiation between minimal breast cancer and small benign breast masses
CONCLUSION: The radiomics model based on ultrasound image features has a satisfied predictive ability for small breast masses, and is expected to become a potential tool for the diagnosis of MBC, and it is a zero cost (in terms of patient participation and imaging time).PMID:37712556 | DOI:10.1002/jcu.23556

Predictive Value of Ultrasound Imaging Characteristics and a BRAF V600E Nomogram for Central Lymph Node Metastasis Risk in Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: A model incorporating ultrasound imaging characteristics and the BRAF V600E mutation can effectively predict the risk of central lymph node metastasis in patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma before surgery. The identified risk factors, including tumor size greater than 5 mm3, BRAF V600E mutation, patient age less than 45 years, nodule capsule invasion, and presence of microcalcification, can aid in surgical decision-making. The nomogram provides a valuable tool for clinicians to assess the likelihood of CLNM in PTMC patients.PMID:37632946

Investigation of Serum Amphiregulin Concentrations in Pregnant Women Diagnosed with Isolated Fetal Growth Restriction in the Third Trimester
CONCLUSION: High maternal serum AREG concentrations appear to be associated with isolated FGR in the third trimester. The pathways through which AREG modulates fetal growth remain to be investigated.PMID:37625442 | DOI:10.1055/a-2140-7110
