Wisconsin Coverdell Stroke Program receives $3.75 million to enhance statewide stroke care
The Department of Health Services will strengthen coordinated stroke care systems statewide thanks to a 5-year, $3.75 million CDC grant to continue the Wisconsin Coverdell Stroke Program , health officials announced today. New Multi-Institutional Partnership to Focus on Stroke Rehabilitation
The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), Burke Neurological Institute, and Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) have been awarded a $5 million grant from the Empire State Development Corporation to speed the development of ground-breaking neurological treatments for those disabled from stroke.

For post-menopausal women, vaginal estrogens do not raise risk of cancer, other diseases

UNM Sciences Center gets grant to expand telemedicine service
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center has gotten a $15.1 million, three-year grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to test the expansion of its existing telemedicine network for stroke and brain injury patients. Oregon gets more Obamacare grants, this time for preventing diabetes and heart disease

Delta Region Health Care Providers Get $1.75M in Grants
ARcare and the Greater Delta Alliance for Health Inc. are getting $1.7 million in grant funding in fiscal 2016 to reduce chronic diseases that disproportionately affect Arkansas residents, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. (University of Texas at San Antonio) Charles Wilson, professor and Ewing Halsell Chair in Biology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, has received an eight-year, grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services expected to total $5,292,000.
