Role of Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring in Preventing Stroke after Cardiac Surgery
CONCLUSIONS: Permanent EEG change and diabetes were significant postoperative stroke predictors in cardiac surgeries. Furthermore, overall survival out to 10-years postoperatively was significantly higher in the group without intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring changes, emphasizing its important predictive role.PMID:36634835 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2023.01.004

Antithrombotic strategy variability in atrial fibrillation and obstructive coronary disease revascularised with percutaneous coronary intervention: primary results from the AVIATOR 2 international registry
CONCLUSIONS: The AVIATOR 2 study is the first digital health study examining physician-patient perspectives on ATT choices after AF-PCI. TT was the most common strategy without differences in 1-year outcomes in ATT strategy. Novel PARADIGM in carotid revascularisation: Prospective evaluation of All-comer peRcutaneous cArotiD revascularisation in symptomatic and Increased-risk asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis using CGuard™ MicroNet-covered embolic prevention stent system.
CONCLUSIONS: These increased risk consecutive patient data (1) indicate safety and efficacy of routine MN-EPS use in achieving endovascular reconstruction across all-comer CS lesion subsets, and (2) are consistent with MN-EPS protection against cerebral events extending throughout the stent healing period. Results of surgical aortic valve replacement and transapical transcatheter aortic valve replacement in patients with previous coronary artery bypass grafting
CONCLUSIONS Reported differences in mortality and morbidity after TaTAVR and RAVR reflect differences in baseline risk profiles. Given the lower trend for renal complications, patients at higher perioperative renal risk might be better served by TaTAVR.

Predicting early mortality following single ‐stage coronary artery or valve surgery and carotid endarterectomy

Transapical aortic valve replacement in extreme-risk patients: outcome, risk factors and mid-term results ADULT CARDIAC
CONCLUSIONS TA-TAVR in extreme-risk patients carries a moderate risk of hospital mortality. Severe comorbidities and presence of residual paravalvular leakages affect the mid-term survival, whereas surviving patients have an acceptable quality of life without rehospitalizations for cardiac decompensation.

Impact of pre ‐existing or new‐onset atrial fibrillation on 30‐day clinical outcomes following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: Results From The BRAVO 3 Randomized Trial
Conclusions: Prior or new‐onset AF within 30 days of transfemoral TAVR is noted in more than one‐third of patients. Despite greater baseline comorbidities than non‐AF patients, AF was not associated with greater risk of adjusted 30‐day outcomes. Hypothermia and Selective Antegrade Cerebral Perfusion Is Safe for Arch Repair in Type A Dissection.
CONCLUSIONS: Unilateral selective antegrade cerebral perfusion with moderate hypothermic circulatory arrest remains a safe strategy for cerebral protection during emergent surgical repair of acute type A dissection and provides equivalent outcomes for both limited and extensive aortic arch reconstruction. Based on these data, unilateral selective antegrade cerebral perfusion and moderate hypothermic circulatory arrest may represent an optimal strategy for cerebral protection in this acute setting.
