Time is Brain: A Quality Improvement Project to Improve Stroke Outcomes by Educating EMS. (P4.308)
Conclusions: Acute stroke management requires a multidisciplinary team effort involving the EMS and stroke team. Contacting the family is essential to review contraindications in aphasic patients. Educating EMS about acute stroke management can help prevent delays in administrating IV rtPA. NIH Stroke Scale Assessment via Tablet-based Mobile Telestroke During Ambulance Transport Is Feasible - pilot data from the Improving Treatment with Rapid Evaluation of Acute stroke via mobile Telemedecine (iTREAT) study (S21.003)
CONCLUSIONS: In this simulation study, NIHSS scores performed during rural ambulance transport using our low-cost, off-the-shelf tablet-based mobile telestroke system correlated well with face-to-face assessments. Suicide in stroke survivors: Frequency and risk factors
Stroke is a substantial health problem worldwide. In addition to the high mortality in the acute phase, stroke causes further mortality over time due to associated comorbidities and complications, including suicidality.1 Stroke survivors have an increased risk of attempted or completed suicide.2 Identified risk factors for suicidality include depression, previous mood disorder, prior history of stroke, younger age, and cognitive impairment.2 Limited data are available on the role of socioeconomic factors such as civil status (most stroke survivors are widows or widowers), education, or income in suicidality. Cognitive performance following lacunar stroke in Spanish‐speaking patients: results from the SPS3 trial
ConclusionsMild cognitive impairment in Secondary Prevention of Small Subcortical Strokes Spanish‐speaking patients with recent lacunar stroke is highly prevalent but has a different pattern to that observed in English‐speaking patients. A combination of socio‐demographics, stroke biology, and stroke care may account for these differences.

A rare cause of stroke in young: PHACE syndrome (P1.253)
Conclusions:Neurocutaneous syndromes are typically diagnosed in childhood and can be a rare cause of stroke in young. Our patient suffered an ischemic stroke secondary to sequelae of undiagnosed PHACE syndrome. Significant Stroke Knowledge Deficiencies in Community Physician Improved with Stroke 120
Background and Purpose: In the existing model of community health service in China, community general practitioners play important roles in health promotion as well as prehospital stroke recognition and management. We recently engineered Stroke 120 based on FAST for China. This investigation aimed to investigate its acceptance in community physicians and promote their stroke related knowledge. Impact of a Pre-Discharge Education Session on Stroke Knowledge: a Randomized Trial
Stroke knowledge, awareness of risk factors and stroke warning symptoms is very poor among stroke survivors. We investigated whether a pre-discharge education intervention in the stroke unit could improve stroke knowledge in patients with TIA or minor stroke.

Development of a self-help cognitive behavioral therapy programme for reducing the stigma of stroke survivors: a modified delphi study
