Comparison of Levosimendan versus Dobutamine in Patients with Moderate to Severe Left Ventricular Dysfunction Undergoing Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting: A Randomized Prospective Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Levosimendan was associated with statistically significant increase in indices of contractility (CI, LVSWI, and RVSWI) and decrease in PCWP during and after OPCAB. Effects of dexmedetomidine on pulse pressure variation changes induced by hemorrhage followed by volume replacement in isoflurane‐anesthetized dogs
ConclusionsDuring ISO anesthesia, PPV increases in individuals prone to developing hypotension from hypovolemia. Because DEX prevents the increase in PPV associated with hypovolemia, PPV should not be used to guide VR in dogs that have been given DEX.

In-hospital organization of primary care of patients presenting a life-threatening emergency: A French national survey in 32 university hospitals
Conclusion This survey is the first to assess the in-hospital organization of primary care for instable and life-threatening patients in France. Our results confirmed the extreme heterogeneity of structural and human organizations for primary in-hospital care of patients presenting at least one organ failure. Thus, a consensus is probably needed to homogenize and improve our practices.

Mortality Reduction After a Preincision Safety Check Before Cardiac Surgery: Is It the Aorta?
CONCLUSIONS: The adaptation of aortic surgical handling after a preincision safety check was necessary for 5.9% of cardiac surgeries, with extracardiac atherosclerosis as the strongest predictor. Outcome was not significantly different between patients with and without adaptation.
