Porta hepatis in relation to portal vein among Indians
Bioinformation. 2022 Jul 31;18(7):630-633. doi: 10.6026/97320630018630. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTThe porta hepatis / hilum of liver is a transverse fissure located in the inferior surface, where the major vessels and ducts enter or leave the organ. The major structures traversing the porta hepatis are the portal vein, the hepatic artery and the hepatic duct. Porta hepatis is an area of surgical and radiological significance. The knowledge of variations in structures traversing the porta hepatitis will reduce the risk of surgeries involving this area. The association between internet use to obtain health information and receiving three doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine in a multi-ethnic population in Ohio
This study examined the association between using the internet as the primary source of health information and receiving three HBV vaccine doses among a multi-ethnic population in Ohio. Community-Based HIV and Viral Hepatitis Fellowship Evaluation: Results from a Qualitative Study
CONCLUSION: As the care of people with HIV becomes more commonplace in primary care clinics, it is imperative that primary care providers receive the necessary training and education to meet this need. Our study of 11 former fellows shows that the Community-Based HIV and Viral Hepatitis Fellowship offers such training, spreads it to other institutions, and can be a model for other programs nationwide.PMID:36377210 | DOI:10.1177/21501319221138193

Lipidomic Analysis Reveals Serum Alteration of Plasmalogens in Patients Infected With ZIKA Virus
Discussion Our strategy in this study was to compare the serum lipid profile between ZIKV patients and symptomatic controls that presented virus-like symptoms as fever, arthralgia, headache, exanthema, myalgia and pruritus. Retro-orbital pain and fever were the only clinical symptoms that significantly distinguished ZIKV and control groups (Table 1). A recent study by Melo et al. (2017) showed that the differences in metabolic and lipid profiles in serum of ZIKV patients are so pronounced that they can be differentiated from a control group composed of both healthy and symptomatic subjects. Thus, by using symptomatic pati...
