Clinical longevity of intracoronal restorations made of gold, lithium disilicate, leucite, and indirect resin composite: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsAccording to the currently available evidence, medium-quality data indicates that lithium disilicate and indirect composite materials demonstrate comparable survival rates in short-term follow-up. Furthermore, intracoronal gold restorations showed significantly higher survival rates, making them a preferred option over intracoronal indirect resin-composite restorations. Besides that, the analysis revealed no statistically significant difference in survival rates between leucite and indirect composite restorations. The short observation period, limited number of eligible articles, and low sample size of the inclu...

Comparison and Effect of Common Beverages on Color Stability of Different Esthetic Restorative Materials: An < em > In Vitro < /em > Study
CONCLUSION: All tested ceramic materials had better color stability compared with composite resin. All the staining beverages used in the current study might cause a significant color change in the tested restorative materials.CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The color stability of esthetic restorative materials affects their clinical performance in the oral cavity, where the restorative materials are usually exposed to staining beverages that are frequently consumed by patients. Therefore, it is important to understand the staining effect of the different beverages on esthetic restorative materials.PMID:37073930 | DOI:10.5005/jp-journals-10024-3419

Surface modification of zirconia or lithium disilicate-reinforced glass ceramic by laser texturing to increase the adhesion of prosthetic surfaces to resin cements: an integrative review
ConclusionsThe laser irradiation at high power increases the roughness of the inner surface of lithium disilicate-reinforced glass ceramic or zirconia leading to an enhanced bond strength to resin-matrix cements. Thus, the laser type and irradiation parameters can be adjusted to enhance the macro- and micro-scale retention of zirconia and glass ceramic surfaces  to resin-matrix cements.Clinical relevanceAlternative methods for surface modification of lithium disilicate-reinforced glass ceramic  and zirconia surfaces have been assessed to provide proper morphological aspects for enhanced adhesion to resin-matrix cements....

Three-dimensional finite element analysis of three-material endocrown in the restoration of dental defects of mandibular second molars
CONCLUSIONS: It's beneficial for tooth tissue to reduce the stress concentration under 2mm thickness. The stress on endocrown will be more concentrated with the increasing of restoration material's Young's modulus.PMID:36970798

Evaluation of marginal and internal fit of lithium disilicate and zirconia all-ceramic CAD-CAM crowns using digital impressions: A systematic review
CONCLUSION: The outcome of this review suggests that clinically acceptable marginal and internal fit can be attained with LD and Z all-ceramic CAD-CAM crowns using digital impressions. Additionally, it has been found that LD and Z ceramics provide similar marginal gap values, but LD material provides better internal fit than Z.PMID:36916623 | DOI:10.1177/20501684231154323
