Glutamate infusion reduces myocardial dysfunction after coronary artery bypass grafting according to NT-proBNP: summary of two randomized controlled trials (GLUTAMICS I-II)
CONCLUSIONS: Infusion of glutamate reduced postoperative rise in NT-proBNP after CABG in medium to high-risk patients. A significantly blunted effect was observed only in insulin-treated diabetes patients.CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION: NCT02592824, https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02592824.PMID:37657522 | DOI:10.1016/j.ajcnut.2023.08.012

Absence of High Lipoprotein(a) Levels Is an Independent Predictor of Acute Myocardial Infarction without Coronary Lesions
In conclusion, in AMI patients, the absence of high Lp(a) levels, as well high HDL-c levels, were independent predictors of the inexistence of coronary artery disease. High Lp (a) levels were also an independent predictor of ischemic events or death.PMID:36769608 | PMC:PMC9917543 | DOI:10.3390/jcm12030960

Time course changes in insulin sensitivity during cardiac surgery: A retrospective study on intraoperative glycemic management using an artificial pancreas
CONCLUSIONS: Hypothermia is the predominant factor of the induced insulin resistance during cardiac surgery. Thus, careful glycemic management during hypothermic CPB is important. Prospective clinical studies are required to confirm the findings of this study.PMID:36757374 | DOI:10.1177/02676591231156366

Single value of NephroCheck ™ performed at 4 hours after surgery does not predict acute kidney injury in off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery
CONCLUSION: NephroCheck™ test performed at 4 hours after surgery did not identify patients at risk for developing AKI following OPCABG surgery.PMID:36722589 | DOI:10.4103/aca.aca_56_21
