Procedural sedation and analgesia with propofol (PSA) for gynecologic surgery: A systematic review of the literature
CONCLUSION: The use of PSA with propofol is promising for a wide range of gynecologic procedures, including hysteroscopic procedures, vaginal prolapse surgery and laparoscopic procedures. The use of PSA with propofol seems to be effective and safe and leads to high degree of patient satisfaction. More research is needed in order to determine for which types of procedures PSA can be used.PMID:37327552 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.05.035

Effects of Dexmedetomidine and Propofol on Postoperative Analgesia and the Cellular Immune Function of Patients Undergoing Radical Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer
Contrast Media Mol Imaging. 2022 Sep 25;2022:7440015. doi: 10.1155/2022/7440015. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTIn order to optimize the anesthesia scheme and improve the effect of surgical treatment, the effects of dexmedetomidine and propofol on postoperative analgesia and cellular immune function of patients undergoing radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer have been analyzed. A total of 86 patients admitted to our hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 who received laparoscopic radical gastritis were selected. The combined dexmedetomidine group (n = 43) and the control group (n = 43) are grouped by the random number table me...

Effects of Ultrasound-Guided Stellate Ganglion Block on Postoperative Quality of Recovery in Patients Undergoing Breast Cancer Surgery: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
J Healthc Eng. 2022 Aug 22;2022:7628183. doi: 10.1155/2022/7628183. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTSurgery has been the primary treatment for breast cancer. However, instant postoperative complications, such as sleep disorder and pain, dramatically impair early postoperative quality of recovery, resulting in more extended hospital stays and higher costs. Recent clinical trials indicated that stellate ganglion block (SGB) could prolong sleep time and improve sleep quality in breast cancer survivors. Moreover, during the perioperative period, SGB enhanced the recovery of gastrointestinal functions in patients with laparoscopic col...

Comparison of Analgesic Efficacy of Local Anesthetic Infiltration and Ultrasound-guided Abdominal Wall Nerve Block in Children Undergoing Ambulatory Inguinal Hernia Repair
CONCLUSIONS: AWNB is associated with a lower intraoperative remifentanil requirement and a lower postoperative FLACC pain score compared with LAI in children undergoing laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair with propofol-remifentanil based general anesthesia.PMID:35752525 | DOI:10.1016/j.jopan.2021.12.006

Comparison of Core Body Temperatures in Patients Administered Remimazolam or Propofol during Robotic-Assisted and Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy
Conclusions: Remimazolam appears to reduce vasoconstriction threshold less than and had a faster onset of vasoconstriction, resulting in superior thermoregulatory control.PMID:35630107 | DOI:10.3390/medicina58050690
