Regeneration and modification of cellulose acetate from cigarette waste: Biomedical potential by encapsulation of tetracycline hydrochloride
In this study, cigarette filters waste was collected, recycled and used for fabricating the nanofibrous membrane of cellulose acetate nanofibers (CFCA) through electrospinning technique. Tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) was encapsulated in the nanofibers to prevent bacterial infections. Various analyses were conducted: Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray Diffraction Analysis (XRD) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). CA and CFCA exhibited high water uptake properties and exhibited similar breaking stress and strain values. Both CA and CFCA effectively acted as stable dr...

In vitro evaluation of BMSCs early proliferation on minocycline-loaded electrospun nanofibers membrane
CONCLUSION: This study shows that by controlling the concentration and release rate of MINO with electrospinning PLA, BMSCs could proliferate on it, and a new bone repair material had been made in this study.PMID:37545205 | DOI:10.3233/BME-230002

Modeling adsorption and photocatalytic treatment of recalcitrant contaminant on multi-walled carbon/TiO < sub > 2 < /sub > nanocomposite
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2023 Aug 1. doi: 10.1007/s11356-023-28852-8. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA nanocomposite photocatalyst consisting of titanium dioxide (TiO2) supported on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) has been successfully prepared and used for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with tetracycline (TC), a recalcitrant antibiotic pollutant. The TiO2/MCNT composites were prepared by a simple evaporation-drying method. The properties of MWCNT/TiO2 were optimized by dispersing different amounts of TiO2 onto MWCNT. The structural and optical characteristics of the nano-engineered photocatalyst composit...

A Scanning Electron Microscope Evaluation of the Adhesion of Fibrin Clot to the Periodontally Compromised Teeth after Exposed to Different Root-conditioning Agents: An < em > In Vitro < /em > Study
CONCLUSION: This research arrived at a conclusion that the dentinal surfaces subjected to conditioning with EDTA gel group as well as coated with human whole blood resulted in appreciably superior fibrin clot bonding to dentin vs Biopure MTAD™ as well as the tetracycline hydrochloride solution group.CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Connective tissue attachment subsequent to surgical procedures causing the adhesion of a fibrin clot to the radicular surface as a result of initial wound healing processes is directly related to periodontal regeneration. It depends on biocompatibility for the fibrin clot and the periodontal pathosis-af...
