Fine particulate matter exposure and perturbation of serum metabolome: A longitudinal study in Baoding, China
Chemosphere. 2021 Feb 26;276:130102. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2021.130102. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMetabolomics represents a powerful tool for measuring environmental exposures and biological responses to unveil potential mechanisms. Few studies have investigated the effects of exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) longitudinally on serum metabolomics in regions with high-level PM2.5. Therefore, we examined the changes of serum metabolomics corresponding to individual PM2.5 exposure levels in spring and autumn among 63 healthy college students in Baoding city, Hebei, China. The metabolic profiling was determi...

Auranofin, an Anti-rheumatic Gold Drug, Aggravates the Radiation-Induced Acute Intestinal Injury in Mice
Conclusion In this study, we found that a non-toxic dose of auranofin significantly aggravated the severity of the radiation-induced intestinal injury. This suggests that auranofin treatment can be an independent factor that influences the risk of intestinal complications after pelvic or abdominal radiotherapy. Ethics Statement All the protocols used in this study were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the Korean Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences (IACUC permit number: KIRAMS217-0007). Author Contributions H-JL, JS, and Y-BL designed the experiments. EL and JK conducted the exp...
