Evaluation of the diagnostic value of FliD, a Helicobacter pylori flagellar protein
Jpn J Infect Dis. 2022 Mar 31. doi: 10.7883/yoken.JJID.2021.795. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNovel immunodominant antigens are urgently required for diagnosis and vaccine of Helicobacter pylori(HP). FliD, an important colonization factor was cloned and expressed(rFliD) to evaluate the levels of specific-IgG, IgM and IgA antibodies in the serum of patients by ELISA. Rabbit anti-rFliD polyclonal antibody (pAb) was obtained by subcutaneous injections of rFliD. The rFliD-specific IFN-γ and IL-4 of peripheral blood mononuclear cells and CD4+ T cells from human were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunospot and flow cytometry. We ...

Trends in cervical cancer incidence and mortality of young and middle adults in Japan
This study aimed to examine the trends in cervical cancer incidence and mortality for young and middle adult women in Japan, by analyzing trends in 10-year interval age-groups. Cervical cancer incidence for young and middle adult females (ages 20 to 59 years) was obtained from high-quality population-based cancer registries in three prefectures from 1985 to 2015. National cancer mortality data was obtained from published vital statistics from 1985 to 2019. Trends in crude and age-standardized rates (ASR) were analyzed using Joinpoint regression. The cervical cancer incidence trend in 20 to 59 year old females combined sign...

Factors of parental COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy: A cross sectional study in Japan
This study aimed to assess factors related to parental COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. A nationwide internet-based cross-sectional study was conducted between May 25 and June 3, 2021 in Japan. The target population was parents of children aged 3-14 years who resided in Japan, and agreed to answer the online questionnaire. Hepatitis B: Who should be treated?-managing patients with chronic hepatitis B during the immune-tolerant and immunoactive phases
World J Gastroenterol. 2021 Nov 21;27(43):7497-7508. doi: 10.3748/wjg.v27.i43.7497.ABSTRACTNew hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections are decreasing owing to improved antiviral therapy and increased HBV vaccination worldwide; however, the number of HBV infections remains a major cause of liver carcinogenesis. HBV triggers cytotoxic immunity to eliminate HBV-infected cells. Therefore, the HBV pathophysiology changes in persistently infected individuals depending on host immune responses and HBV DNA proliferation state. To prevent liver cirrhosis and carcinogenesis caused by HBV, it is important to treat HBV infection at an earl...
