Effectiveness of 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine on all-cause pneumonia in children under 5  years in Shanghai, China: An observational study
CONCLUSIONS: PCV13 vaccination among children aged 0-5 years substantially reduced the incidence of all-cause pneumonia. Direct immunization of children under 5 years is an effective strategy to combat outpatient pneumonia, and hospitalized pneumonia.PMID:37620204 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.041

Influenza and pneumococcal vaccination coverage and associated factors in patients hospitalized with acute exacerbations of COPD in China: Findings from the real-world data
CONCLUSIONS: Influenza and pneumococcal vaccination coverage are extremely low. Urgent measures are necessary to increase vaccination coverage among inpatients with AECOPD in China.PMID:37488669 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000002790

A phase II, single-center, randomized, double-blind, parallel control clinical study evaluating the immunogenicity and safety of a two-dose schedule of serogroups ACYW meningococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine
CONCLUSION: The serogroups ACYW meningococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine was safe and effective in the population aged 3-35 months. The vaccine efficacy and safety of the 20-μg dose group were not less than that of the 40-μg dose group.PMID:36243590 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2022.08.001

Immunogenicity of meningococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccine as a replacement for meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine in children in Guangzhou, China
Vaccine. 2022 Jan 27:S0264-410X(21)01200-7. doi: 10.1016/j.vaccine.2021.09.021. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTo assess the durability of antibody persistence after substitution of the MPCV vaccine for the MPSV-A vaccine in children, an observational study was conducted in children who voluntarily received two doses of MPCV-AC instead of MPSV-A between March 2017 and March 2018 in Guangzhou, China. In total, 131 and 47 participants were enrolled in the 3-year-old and 6-year-old groups, respectively. In the 3-year-old group, the seroprotection rate and GMT values for Men A and Men C were raised significantly after 1-month p...

AME lacked comprehensive surveillance in China.METHODS: Nation-wide surveillance of all-age patients with AME syndromes was conducted in 144 sentinel hospitals of 29 provinces in China. Eleven AME-causative viral and bacterial pathogens were tested with multiple diagnostic methods.FINDINGS: Between 2009 and 2018, 20,454 AME patients were recruited for tests. Based on 9,079 pat...

Evaluation of effectiveness, safety and cost-benefit of the 23- valent pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide vaccine for HIV-Infected patients
CONCLUSION: Our study results showed that PPV23 can be safely and effectively administered to HIV-1 infected individuals and effectively preventing Streptococcal pneumonia. Considering the cost-benefit of vaccination among HIV-infected persons, as it has been reported in our study, it is necessary to promote the widespread use of the vaccine among HIV-infected persons in the future.PMID:34857419 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2021.11.058
