Differential Susceptibility in Ambient Particle –Related Risk of First-Ever Stroke: Findings From a National Case-Crossover Study
AbstractDifferent populations may respond differently to exposure to ambient fine particulate matter, defined as particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 2.5 μm (PM2.5); however, less is known about the distribution of susceptible individuals among the entire population. We conducted a time-stratified case-crossover study to assess associations between stroke risk and exposure to PM2.5. During 2013 –2015, 1,356 first-ever stroke events were derived from a large representative sample, the China National Stroke Screening Survey (CNSSS) database. Daily PM2.5 average exposures with a spatial res...

Risk Factors and Clinical Impact of Delayed Cerebral Ischemia after Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: Analysis from the China National Stroke Registry
Conclusions: Female sex, a history of diabetes mellitus, and poor clinical grade are independent early risk factors for the development of DCI and can contribute to a better identification of patients at a high risk for DCI. DCI was associated with severe clinical course, poor outcome, and mortality both in the short- and long-term in patients with aSAH in China.Neuroepidemiology 2018;50:128 –136

Clinical Implications of Nicorandil Combined with Trimetazidine in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease: A Real-World Observational Study
CONCLUSION: Nicorandil in combination with trimetazidine can be considered as an effective and potential treatment strategy in reducing the rate of MACE in patients with CHD in the Chinese population.PMID:34846710 | DOI:10.1007/s12325-021-01987-1

Sex Differences in the Prevalence of and Risk Factors for Cognitive Impairment No Dementia among the Elderly in a Rural Area of Northern China: A Population-Based Cross-Sectional Study
Conclusion: These findings suggest that it is crucial to address the secondary prevention of stroke and to consider the psychological status among the elderly with low educational attainment in order to reduce the burden of CIND in China.Neuroepidemiology 2019;52:25 –31

Radiomics-based prediction of hemorrhage expansion among patients with thrombolysis/thrombectomy related-hemorrhagic transformation using machine learning
CONCLUSIONS: The currently established NECT-based radiomic score is valuable in predicting hemorrhage expansion after HT among patients treated with reperfusion treatment after ischemic stroke, which may aid clinicians in determining patients with HT who are most likely to benefit from anti-expansion treatment.PMID:35173809 | PMC:PMC8842178 | DOI:10.1177/17562864211060029

Long-term exposure to ambient ozone and cardiovascular diseases: evidence from two national cohort studies in China
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term exposure to MDA8 O3 may increase the incidence of CVD. Therefore, the policies that control O3 and related precursors are persistently needed.PMID:37625570 | DOI:10.1016/j.jare.2023.08.010
