Interprofessional Simulation and Education: Physical Therapy, Nursing, and Theatre Faculty Work Together to Develop a Standardized Patient Program.
This article describes the development of an SP program that allows graduate and undergraduate students to engage in interprofessional experiences in a multifunctional simulation center. Three academic programs at a midwestern university developed an interdisciplinary course that trains undergraduate students as SPs for nursing and physical therapy simulation experiences. The SP program has opened doors for interprofessional collaboration beyond current simulation experiences and has exposed the university community to simulation. PMID: 26753308 [PubMed - in process]

Experiential Learning in Pediatric Physical Therapist Education: Faculty and Student Perceptions
Conclusions: Use of and satisfaction with EL with children in physical therapists' education vary. Continued research on this variation and potential effects to educational outcomes is needed. This study aimed to describe use of experiential learning (EL) with children in entry-level doctor of physical therapy programs. Experiential learning is a recommended educational strategy for building physical therapy knowledge and skills.

Experiential Learning in Pediatric Physical Therapist Education: Challenges and Facilitators
Conclusions: This research illustrates challenges and facilitators to the use of EL with children. How these challenges and facilitators are perceived by DPT educators has implications for faculty and program directors, particularly as they consider the use of EL with children in DPT programs nationally.

An audit of structure-based medical acupuncture by a single provider in patients with musculoskeletal pain using PROMIS scores as the outcome
CONCLUSION: In a difficult patient population with musculoskeletal pain, SMA is a technique that can likely be used to improve PROMIS anxiety and depression, although no firm conclusions can be drawn from this uncontrolled clinical audit.
