How Nurse Faculty in Saudi Arabia View Their Competencies in All Aspects of the Faculty Role: A Descriptive Study
This study used a quantitative descriptive survey with a sample of 92 participants to assess perceived nurse faculty competency in their role at Saudi Arabian universities. Participants' perceptions overall were highly positive in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service competencies. Participants reported less competence in the areas of scholarship and service when they started in their role. Orientation and a mentor relationship with senior faculty were reported to aid in their transition to the faculty role. The findings of the study identify strategies to support the new nurse educator.PMID:38625709 | DOI:10.109...

Prevalence of Low or Very Low Food Security in Undergraduate Nursing Students
This study sought to identify the prevalence of food insecurity in baccalaureate nursing students. Data on demographics, perceived stress, food security, and food access were collected using a survey from 201 baccalaureate nursing students. Nearly 43 percent of students reported food insecurity within the last year. Students reporting food insecurity reported higher levels of perceived stress (p < .01). Findings support that food insecurity is prevalent in nursing students. An increase in awareness, assessment, and efforts to provide early interventions should be considered.PMID:38595215 | DOI:10.1097/01.NEP.00000000000...
