Fecal microbiota transplantation treatment for refractory ulcerative colitis with allergy to 5-aminosalicylic acid: A case report
Conclusion: The choice of treatment for refractory UC patients who are allergic to 5-ASA is relatively limited. In our case, we highlight the specific role of FMT for refractory UC with absence of 5-ASA through intestinal microbiota reconstruction.

Unexpected effects of systemic steroids on the CRSwNP proteome: is protein upregulation more important than inhibition?
CONCLUSION: Proteomic analysis of differentially expressed proteins in CRSwNP demonstrates that systemic steroids cause almost uniform upregulation of transcriptionally decreased proteins, whereas the effects of steroids on transcriptionally increased proteins are more heterogeneous. Thus, proteomic analysis may be an effective tool to understand specific therapeutic benefits of steroid use in polyp disease and to create more targeted treatments. Ocular allergic contact dermatitis from topical drugs
Purpose of review Ocular allergic contact dermatitis is a common yet challenging and frequently misdiagnosed condition. Inappropriate or delayed treatment can contribute to a variety of clinical symptoms such as tearing and itching with signs such as ptosis and cicatricial ectropion, resulting in deterioration of disease, for which the topical medication was originally prescribed to resolve. Recent findings Understanding previously unrecognized pathogenic mechanisms involving ocular contact dermatitis has driven new approaches to control the inflammatory process by neutralizing inflammatory mediators and their recepto...

Collagenous colitis in a child induced by chronic respiratory allergy: A case report
Conclusion: CC in children is rare, and childhood CC induced by a respiratory allergic reaction has not been previously reported. Therefore, this is a special case of CC in a patient who was cured with anti-allergy treatments and desensitization instead of steroid therapy.

State of the Art Medical Management of Nasal Polyps
CONCLUSIONS: Topical steroid therapy is clearly effective for CRSwNP, and recent studies demonstrate the safety and efficacy of high-dose nasal steroid rinses. Alternate delivery methods for local steroids may be useful for patients who are not responding to or who are noncompliant with conventional intranasal corticosteroid sprays and rinses. Future studies are needed to clarify if oral or topical antibiotics, oral anti-leukotrienes, or other novel therapies are significantly effective in decreasing symptoms and improving the quality of life in patients with CRSwNP.PMID:36848283 | DOI:10.1177/19458924221145256
