Evidence, Availability and Future Visions in Simulation in General and Visceral Surgery
Zentralbl Chir. 2023 Aug;148(4):337-346. doi: 10.1055/a-2111-0916. Epub 2023 Aug 10.ABSTRACTPractice makes perfect - a saying that everyone has certainly heard. Surgeons of all levels of training can demonstrably practice to some extent on simulators. This training outside the operating theatre and independent of patients makes sense, both ethically and financially. Although the effectiveness of simulation in surgery has been proven several times, simulation training is not a mandatory part of surgical specialist training in Germany. Simulation covers a very wide range in terms of application, effort and costs. This review...

Urinary stress incontinence after radical prostatectomy in treatment reality : Results of a  rehabilitation clinic-2009 compared to 2016

Complications After Inpatient Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: Effect of Surgeon Experience, Procedure Volume, and Other Surgeon-Based Characteristics
CONCLUSION: Surgeon gender, type of training, medical school rank, or hospital affiliation had no impact on complications after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Surgeon experience and procedure volume may have clinical implications for patient outcomes. Further studies to elucidate factors associated with surgeon quality and patient outcomes are necessary.PMID:35337194 | DOI:10.1177/00031348221084083

Risk of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism after gynecological day surgery
CONCLUSION: The risk of VTE in Danish women operated within a day surgery setting is probably very low since we found no cases of VTE in our setup. The beneficial effect of routine use of GCS and one dose of PTP postoperatively given to all women who had undergone MIS in a day surgery setting are questioned. One dose of PTP postoperatively without GCS can be considered to only women stratified as high-risk of VTE until there is more evidence whether these women actually need thromboprophylaxis postoperatively at all.PRECIS: The incidence of VTE in women undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy or vaginal prolapse operation in ...

Italian survey on the residents' surgical level in gynecology and obstetrics
CONCLUSIONS: In Italy, senior residents are generally confident with the low-complexity procedures and also with complex cesarean sections. The number of Italian residents confident to perform a hysterectomy is poor.PMID:33682831 | DOI:10.23750/abm.v92i1.10649
