< em > In vitro < /em > evaluation of antibiotic synergy for carbapenem-resistant < em > Klebsiella pneumoniae < /em > clinical isolates
CONCLUSIONS: Of the three combinations tested, imipenem and tigecycline followed by meropenem-colistin were found to be best. No synergy was detected for levofloxacin-polymyxin B combination.PMID:35345078 | DOI:10.4103/ijmr.IJMR_760_19

Bacteria associated with infectious keratoconjunctivitis outbreak in confined lambs
Conclusion. The presence of these species confirms their importance in the aetiology of this disease, and the low resistance profile observed in the studied farm suggested an increased cure success rate.PMID:35613018 | DOI:10.1099/jmm.0.001534

A Retrospective National Study on Colonization Rate and Antimicrobial Susceptibility of < em > Streptococcus agalactiae < /em > in Pregnant Korean Women, 2018-2020
CONCLUSION: In pregnant Korean women, GBS colonization rates were in the range of 9.6%-13.2%, with Gyeongsang-do being the lowest and Jeolla-do the highest. The resistance rate against clindamycin was high (33.4%-35.7%). GBS colonization rates during pregnancy should be studied nationwide according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-recommended guidelines with periodic antimicrobial resistance monitoring.PMID:35914753 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2022.63.8.717

Whole-genome analysis of < em > Haemophilus influenzae < /em > strains isolated from persons with cystic fibrosis
Conclusion. The H. influenzae strains showed limited levels of resistance, with the highest being against co-trimoxazole. Sequences encoding a carbamate kinase and a haemoglobin- and haemoglobin-haptoglobin-binding-like protein, a glycosyl transferase and an urease may aid the colonization of the CF lung. The adhesins and other identified putative virulence factors did not seem to be necessary for colonization.PMID:36006824 | DOI:10.1099/jmm.0.001570

Genotypic characterization of vancomycin-resistant < em > Enterococcus < /em > causing urinary tract infection in northern India
CONCLUSIONS: The present study showed prevalence of vanA and vanB genes carrying Enterococcus in a tertiary care centre in north India. The emergence of resistance against drugs such as tigecycline and linezolid is a topic of concern as it will be a therapeutic challenge for physicians.PMID:36124515 | DOI:10.4103/ijmr.IJMR_2554_19
