The value of andrology medical-surgical training programs for Urology residents.
Abstract Nowadays, sub-specialty expertise in andrology is required within the Urology training program. These practices -during the MIR (Medical Intern Residency) program and once the specialty studies are over- should be performed under supervision and have a multidisciplinary nature. Current status of Urological Education in Spain.
CONCLUSION: The current training program is upgradeable. New studies and efforts should aim to standardize the acquisition of surgical and non-surgical skills, guarantee access to surgical training courses, establish a minimum of required interventions per year and at the end of residency, foster academic training, participation in research of residents and achieve an objective assessment of the specialty. Medical therapy versus transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic enlargement (BPE): a cost minimisation analysis
ConclusionsBPE medical management was more cost saving than TURP for different specific treatment durations. Information from this study will allow clinicians to convey medical and surgical costs over time, to both patients and payors alike, when considering BPE treatment.

Medical malpractice liability and its consequences.
The objective of this study was to assess the impact of these claims on Spanish urologists. METHODOLOGY: A survey on medical professional liability in urology was designed. The Spanish Association of Urology and the Urological Research Foundation approved the questionnaire, generated by the PIEM online tool. RESULTS: The total number of responses obtained was 202 (11.6% rate), of which 25.24% reported having been claimed, 88% reported mood changes after being claimed, 100% in criminal proceedings. Usefulness and acceptability of a Smart pH meter and mobile medical App as a monitoring tool in patients with urolithiasis: short-term prospective study
CONCLUSION: The new smart Lit-Control® pH Meter and the accompanying medical App were deemed useful and acceptable by urolithiasis patients as a portable tool for urine pH monitoring at home. The usage compliance rates were high and the satisfaction with the products was good.PMID:35173078
