A Comprehensive Overview of Allergen-specific Immunotherapy Types, Recombinant and Natural Extract Allergens in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Allergies
Iran J Allergy Asthma Immunol. 2022 Oct 26;21(5):494-511. doi: 10.18502/ijaai.v21i5.11038.ABSTRACTAllergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) involves administering allergen extracts. It is used to desensitize allergic patients. Herbal allergen extracts that are optimum in efficacy and fewest in side effects are still challenging to produce. To overcome these limitations, oral immunotherapy, epicutaneous immunotherapy, intralymphatic immunotherapy, and artificial recombinant allergen preparations have been evaluated. Recombinant allergens have become more popular with the development of molecular diagnostics and therapeutics. Be...

The concentration of potentially toxic elements (zinc, iron, manganese) bound PM2.5 in the indoor air of urban schools: a global systematic review and meta-analysis
In this study, the concentration of Zn, Fe, and Mn in the indoor air of schools bound PM2.5 were meta-analyzed. PubMed and Scopus were used to retrieve papers related to the concentration of PTEs bound PM2.5 in the indoor air of urban schools from January 1, 2000 to March 10, 2020. The concentration of PTEs in PM2.5 was meta-analyzed based on the country subgroup in the random-effects model (REM). Thirty papers with 25 data reports were included in the study. The rank order of PTEs bound PM2.5 was Zn (17.32  ng/m3)  >  Fe (14.49 ng/m3)  >  Mn (7.40 ng/m3). The rank order of countries based on the concentra...

Clinical, Laboratory Characteristic, and Treatment of Human Toxocariasis in Northern Vietnam
CONCLUSION: Toxocara infections in Vietnamese people often have skin allergies and liver damage, rarely with severe neurological symptoms. The efficacy of albendazole treatment after one month is not clear. In the near future, research with a confirmatory test other than Anti-IgG Toxocara ELISA is needed to screen for inhospital diagnosis.PMID:36046560 | PMC:PMC9375719 | DOI:10.18502/ijpa.v17i1.9010
