Long Curriculum 3.0 in Resident Education: Comprehensive Curriculum in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology for Postgraduate Trainees in Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Adolescent Medicine
In 2015 the Resident Education Committee of the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology published the Long Curriculum in Resident Education to provide educators with a comprehensive document to be used in post-graduate medical education. The original curriculum was designed to meet the resident learning objectives for the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG), the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and to provide a more intensive, broader learning experience.

A Novel Approach to Simulation-Based Perineal Repair in Undergraduate Medical Education.
CONCLUSIONS: This pilot project demonstrates that a formal hands-on workshop improves medical knowledge, technical skills, and student satisfaction. Students ’ perceptions of learning environment and their leisure-time exercise in medical school: Does sport background matter?
DiscussionThe findings indicate that sport background is associated with students ’ perceptions of the learning environment as supportive of their needs for autonomy and relatedness, but not for competence, and is linked to their leisure-time exercise in medical school. The observed relationships could help inform medical schools curricular initiatives in preventing student bur nout right from the start of medical school.

Competency-Based Medical Education in Canadian Radiation Oncology Residency Training: An Institutional Implementation Pilot Study
Competence by Design (CBD) is the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's (RCPSC) adaptation of competency-based medical education (CBME) for medical residency training.1 Canadian radiation oncology (RO) residency programs transitioned to CBD in July 2019. Incorporating value-based healthcare projects in residency training: a mixed-methods study on the impact of participation on understanding and competency development
Conclusion In medical residency training programmes, competency development through active participation in projects with societally relevant healthcare themes—such as VBHC—was found to be a promising strategy. From a resident’s perspective, combining a thorough investigation of the VBHC dilemma with an in-depth stakeholder analysis is key to the successful implementation of a VBHC project.
