Characteristics of Premature Myocardial Infarction Among Women With Prior Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: Among women with premature MIs, 39% had a history of an APO. Women with APO history presented sooner after pregnancy but had similar MI characteristics vs those without APOs. Pregnancy history may identify women who warrant early, aggressive cardiovascular disease prevention.PMID:37694271 | PMC:PMC10487279 | DOI:10.1016/j.jacadv.2023.100411

Retinal and choroidal microvascular changes during pregnancy detected with optical coherence tomography angiography: a prospective study
CONCLUSION: This is the first prospective study in the literature that evaluates the measurements in all trimesters of pregnancy with optical coherence tomography angiography. We observed significant retinal and choroidal microvascular changes between trimesters of pregnancy and when compared with healthy females.PMID:37393067 | DOI:10.1016/j.jcjo.2023.06.004

Clinical Characteristics, Course, and Outcomes of Vertebral Artery Dissections in the Postpartum Period; a Pooled Analysis of Published Case Reports
CONCLUSION: PPVAD is a severe medical condition but most cases were fully recovered after an early and proper antithrombotic plan for each case scenario.PMID:36919140 | PMC:PMC10008223 | DOI:10.22037/aaem.v11i1.1814

Association Between History of Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes and Coronary Artery Disease Assessed by Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Among Swedish women undergoing coronary computed tomography angiography screening, there was a statistically significant association between history of adverse pregnancy outcomes and image-identified coronary artery disease, including among women estimated to be at low cardiovascular disease risk. Further research is needed to understand the clinical importance of these associations.PMID:36749333 | DOI:10.1001/jama.2022.24093

A teenager with chest pain, a troponin below the limit of detection, and " benign early repolarization "
Sent by anonymous, written by Pendell MeyersA male in his teens presented with complaints of chest discomfort and dyspnea beginning while exercising but without obvious injury. He immediately stopped exercising and symptoms started to improve. Later that evening he felt recurrent central chest discomfort, shortness of breath, and vomited. Symptoms have been constant since this second episode, and are still present on arrival, which seems to have been less than 1 to 2 hours from onset of symptoms. No similar symptoms in the past. No prior exertional complaints of chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, or undue shortness of...

Optical coherence tomography angiography for the characterisation of retinal microvasculature alterations in pregnant patients with anaemia: a nested case ‒control study
CONCLUSION: It was found that anaemia during pregnancy was associated with macular microvascular abnormalities, which differed in PA as pregnancy progressed. The results suggest that quantitative OCTA metrics may be useful for risk evaluation before clinical diagnosis.TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBERS: 2021KYPJ098 and ChiCTR2100049850.PMID:36428006 | DOI:10.1136/bjo-2022-321781
