Incidence of Cardiovascular Disease After Atopic Dermatitis Development: A Nationwide, Population-Based Study
CONCLUSIONS: The current study found that adult patients newly diagnosed with AD were at significantly increased risk for subsequent CVDs, suggesting the need to consider early prevention strategies for CVDs targeting patients with AD.PMID:37021508 | DOI:10.4168/aair.2023.15.2.231

Treatment of a 4-year-old boy with mepolizumab for Lymphocytic Hypereosinophilic Syndrome
A previously healthy 4-year-old boy presented to the emergency room with two days of headache, unsteady gait, and left hemiparesis. Emergent head CT revealed a right sided hypodensity concerning for ischemic stroke. Follow up MRI/MRA revealed multiple acute ischemic foci in the right MCA and PCA watershed territories, chronic appearing ischemic foci bilaterally, and bilateral carotid artery narrowing concerning for medium or large vessel vasculitis. Cardiac, hypercoagulability, and rheumatologic workup were unrevealing.

Oral tolerance: an updated review
Immunol Lett. 2022 Apr 5:S0165-2478(22)00041-4. doi: 10.1016/j.imlet.2022.03.007. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOral tolerance (OT) has classically been defined as the specific suppression of cellular and/or humoral immune responses to an antigen by prior administration of the antigen through the oral route. Multiple mechanisms have been proposed to explain the induction of OT including T cell clonal depletion and anergy when high doses of antigens are fed, and regulatory T (Treg) cell generation following oral administration of low and repeated doses of antigens. Oral antigen administration suppresses the immune response ...
